I wake up annoyed. My desire to tear Freddie a new one hasn't left and maybe I shouldn't have gone and smoked up, but that doesn't mean I don't know what I'm doing. I wasn't even that high last night and Beckett acted like I couldn't fucking think straight. High or not I want to show Freddie he can't treat Beckett the way he does.
I glare when Beckett knocks on my door making him wait a couple minutes before I open the door.
"I know my way to the cafeteria by now"
He lifts a brow.
"are you pouting about last night?"
I glare.
"I'm not pouting. I just don't need a fucking chaperone everywhere I fucking go"
He shakes his head crossing his arms.
"lose the profanities Jasper you know the rules"
I scoff pulling a button up over my shoulders and tucking a tie in my pocket and pushing past him.
"whatever"
Beckett sighs, but doesn't argue following me to the cafeteria.
When we get there I load my plate and Beckett follows with his behind, but when we get to the table he doesn't sit.
I glare up at him.
"are you gonna fucking sit?"
He takes a deep irritated breath and Brody chuckles.
"damn someone's crabby today"
I don't respond instead I keep my eyes on Beckett who shakes his head.
"I think you can handle sitting by yourself"
He turns to Brody.
"keep him out of trouble will you?"
Brody nods.
"for sure Beck"
Beckett thanks him walking away before turning and nodding at Brody.
"that means no fighting"
Brody chuckles and Beckett shakes his head before going and sitting at a table with some other mentors.
I turn back to my tray and glare, doesn't matter to me if Beckett sits over there I'm not his keeper.
Brody nods at me.
"so you're starting to earn his trust?"
I lift a brow.
"why because I can sit at a table by myself? I've been doing that since preschool"
He chuckles.
"damn you seriously woke up on the wrong side of the bed, I just meant Derek sat with me for fucking weeks before he let me sit on my own, he still sits with me when he's here cuz I actually like the guy now, but I used to get sooo pissed he wouldn't leave me alone"
I shrug, is that true Beckett's trying to show me he trusts me?
"He seems to have more trust in your abilities to keep me out of trouble"
Brody chuckles.
"nah he wouldn't rely on me, he knows I get into my fair share"
I lift a brow.
"you and Beckett are close?"
He nods "he only started here at the beginning of the year, but he's cool. Most of the other mentors are stuck up"
