Levi's POV

"Hanji Zoe!" My voice echoed in the halls and a few Scouts had trembled by the sound of my voice. Maybe because I never gotten that angry before. "You lied to me! Where the hell are you?! Show yourself! You and that damn cat!"

Hanji lied to me. Erwin did not want to see me. She distracted me for a reason- and I have to figure that out. Well, what am I doing finding Hanji? Where's my team? Surely Eren cannot lie to me.

"You win, Hanji." I scowled. I turned around, storming down towards the horse stables. I did assign Eren to clean the stables once again- if anything, he should still be there. So then, off I went.

"Oi, Eren!"

"C-Captain Levi!" I turned the corner, seeing Eren stiffly stand up straight with a broom by his side. "Right here!"

My arms crossed as I glanced around the room. He did well on cleaning the stables. "Hanji spoke to you earlier this morning, right? When she told me Erwin needed me. Right?" Eren nodded his head, almost like he was... ashamed? "What did she want with you? Working on experiments? Do you know where she would be for said experiments?"

"A-Actually, Captain, she didn't want to work on experiments. More like she was asking about my transformation process."

Feeling one of my eyebrows rise, I began to dig more into this matter. "Excuse me? What about about the transformation process?"

"She said it was more like a mental note. Asking me if there was another key for transforming into a titan. We only came to conclusion of determination- but otherwise, it's the same as a motivation. Honestly, I was confused on why she needed to know that since we already knew how I can transform."

Only one reason: her transformation as a cat. She's still digging into that matter- wait-.

"Goddammit, Hanji." I scowled, turning around and sprinting towards Hanji's laboratory. She's attempting to transform into that damn cat. After everything we've been through... no, more like what I went through... it seems she still wants to go through with her plans. I hate how stubborn she is. Though... at least I know she's the kind of woman who won't give up.

"Captain!"

"Hanji Zoe- show yourself!" Storming down the stairs, I found that damn cat curled up on the table. I know it was none other than Hanji's cat form. Her ears twitched slightly when I yelled her name. "You stupid cat- why are you doing this?!"

She still didn't look back at me.

My fists balled up in anger as I continued to walk over to her. She had that, "what are you going to do?" look on her cat face. I don't know how or why I know, but I could hear her snickering at me. Like just because she was a cat means she didn't have any human abilities. How wrong she was...

I picked her up, scowling at her. She gave a soft, "merow" at me as she hung from the scuff of her neck. "Hanji Zoe, so this is what you did? Did you alter your goddamn serum or something like that? Is that why you distracted me? Don't lie to me anymore."

Hanji began to squirm and I dropped her to the ground. To be fair, Hanji had her claws unsheathed and was swiping at me. I didn't want to get scratched by her dirtied claws. Who knows where it has been? Or if she's been hunting birds- actually, that's quite disgusting to picture. Hanji better not hunt birds or mice.

My eyes tracked her down as she scampered away. From the corner of my eye, I saw a slight transformation from a cat to her human form. Thankfully, she transformed with her clothes on. I don't want to deal with her naked self.

"Levi, I can control it!"

"Control it? Seriously?!"

Hanji walked out of her hiding spot, chuckling with that smirk on her face. "Levi- listen to me! Please, just hear me out!"

"You're insane- stop this before it gets out of hand. I mean it, Hanji. I don't want you hurt."

Her arms crossed as she gave a pouty face to me. "I need you to hear me out on this because this is really important to me. Levi, this can change the statistics on how many people who dies on the expeditions. If anything, Levi, if anything... we can have less than 10% of casualties on future expeditions!"

"By what logic?!"

"The fact that titans go after humans, Levi! Think about it! If we could transform into animals or have animal DNA within ourselves, we can avoid titans altogether! It can make killing titans easier! Or we can inject these animal DNA into the citizens of the walls! That way, they don't have to worry the next time the wall falls and titans running amok! It's groundbreaking!"

She does have a point. I can't get mad at that. But she signed herself up to be the number one test subject. I hate it if she signed anyone else on this project of hers- but either way, it requires human sacrifices.

"It's a death trap, Hanji!" I retaliated, trying to hold myself back, but I cannot. "We cannot know if this works or if it fails! So stop this experiment. No more lives have to put at risk. I know you're trying to do the right thing, but there's nothing to prove if it works. And like hell Erwin and I are going to allow you to test it out on the expedition. Not you or other Scouts."

I looked around her entire room. The inhumane part of me wanted to take all her research and watch it burn in the fireplace. But of course, that's the inhumane part of me. Knowing Hanji, this was all of her work. She sacrificed her meals and sleep just to record and theorize.

Instead, I just left it alone and turned around. "Don't do anything stupid. Please. Clean up this place, Hanji."

"You don't have the right to tell me what to do, Levi." Which part does she mean?
