"Teddy. Wake up. Teddy!" A voice wakes me up. My eyes flutter open.
"Wh-what. What's happened? Is everyone okay?" I stutter incoherently.
"Everything is fine. You slept in. You usually wake up before us, today you didn't." The voice says, who now I know belongs to Dakota.
"Oh. I must have been super tired yesterday then." I conclude.
"Yeah. Now come on and get dressed. We have to leave soon if we want breakfast." She explains.
"Shoot. Jack!" I spring up from bed. "We always eat breakfast together! He is probably all alone." I pout.
"He is a big boy. Don't worry Ted, he will understand." Sage says entering the room with a brush combing through her hair.
"Yeah, you guys are right. He is totally fine." I say still feeling guilty about it.
"Right! Now get ready we are all waiting for you!" Sage declares.
I scurry to the closet and grab my usual school attire, run to the bathroom. Brush my teeth, and dance myself awake. I take a comb through my hair, calling it a day. Next, I strip my pajamas and put on my new clothes. Slide my converse on and rush back into the room. I smile to the girls and tell them I am ready. I will shower tonight. I tell myself, making a mental note in my head.
"Great. Let's boogie." Amelia says.
When we get to the cafeteria I quickly just grab some coffee and make myself a bowl of cereal for time purposes. I plop myself down across from my usual breakfast buddy.
"I am so sorry Jack. I slept in accidentally. Our daily breakfast meeting was ruined because of me." I pout.
"It's okay Teddy. I guess we both did the same thing because I slept in too. I thought you would be the lonely one." He laughs.
"Dang. We got lucky." I admit.
"We sure did. But let's vow to never forget or accidentally miss our daily breakfast together again. Deal?" He extends his out his hand.
"Deal." I shake his hand smiling.
I take a sip of coffee. "Mmmmm... coffee. That's what I needed. When in doubt, you all leave me, coffee and food will never disappoint." I tease.
"Yeah right. You are stuck with us forever." Jonah states.
"Agreed."
"Yep."
"100% inseparable."
I laugh.
We happily eat our food and follow our daily routine of goodbyes and head to class."So. I already unlocked all three, so I will be sticking to the sidelines, cheering you guys on for today and tomorrow." I say to Corbyn and Sage as we walk down the halls to class.
"Really? That was fast." Corbyn states.
"Yep. So play rock-paper-scissors for who gets to be followed around by your best fan." I laugh.
The game begins.
1-1
Whoever wins this round gets me for the day. Loser, tomorrow.
"Yes! I win!" Corbyn exclaims happily.
Sage pouts.
"Awww, Sage, don't be sad, you get me tomorrow." I say to cheer her up.
