"Go you should dance to catch that hottie,"

My friends told me while dancing along with the loud bass music played by the DJ on stage at the center of the club.

"Huh?" I just answered, pretending that I didn't hear what they said.

I don't want to be here, to be honest. I only tag along to blend in with my friends.

Loud music ringing in my ears,

Colorful lights blinking all the time,

Flirtatious people in every corner,

Wearing tight, skinny dresses,

Hurting my ankles because of the stiletto,

And lastly, the bitter taste of alcohol that makes me want to vomit just by smelling it.

Everything.

I hate everything I'm doing right now.But,

"Come on, if you don't want that dude, can you order me some blue lagoon on the counter, as a bit of charm to get that hottie, It's a nice catch don't you find?." One of my friends said while pointing on the guy in one of the private tables that seems to be hitting on her too.

"So unfair, get me some tequila sunrise too."

"Mine's a whiskey Thanks, girl."

"Ow Okay," I respond, It's much more comfortable to stay in one corner than to dance after all.I walk through the ocean of dancing wild girls and boys at the center until I reach the counter with lesser people.

I sit on one of the vacant high chairs."At last," I sigh.

"Excuse me, can I have a glass of cold water please," The bartender handed me a glass of water. I immediately drank it to rinse the after taste of alcohol that I drink earlier.

"Ah, can I also have a Blue lagoon, Tequila sunshine, and a Whiskey for my friends. The Bartender just nodded as a response.

"Are you a human or a bank?" A woman beside me asked.

She's watching the people while drinking a glass of whiskey on her hand, while her arm and back is resting on the counter table.I look at her from head to toe. She's wearing a white shirt, black pants, a pair of boots and a black cup. I don't recognize her as I'm always in this counter and watching everybody all the time while waiting for my friends to finish their stuff. So I can tell this woman is new here.

"Done admiring my look?" She said that startles me a little.

"Oh! Sorry my bad," I answered and looked at the glass of water in my hand.

"Don't be sorry to me, you should apologize to yourself instead." I looked at her, but she's still looking at the dance floor.

"Excuse me?" I said.

"You don't like it, don't you?" she asked.

"This?" Raising the whiskey in her hand.

"And this?" Pointing on the dance floor.

"Excuse me, But who are you?" I asked, but she just shrugs her shoulder and smiles widely.

"Just a Nobody," She answered and look at the people dancing on the dance floor again.

"I just noticed, and it looks like you're raising Lions."

"Huh?" I asked cause I don't really understand her, is she drunk or something.

"And you seem to be the zookeeper," She added.

"Sorry Ma'am, are you talking to me?" I said.

"Look," she said while pointing on my friends dancing.

"They are dancing wildly like a lion spotting for a prey, But you are the zookeeper yet, you're the one inside the cage," I didn't respond.

"Lions should always be kept in a cage in crowded places, don't you think?" She addedI don't know, but I just listened to what she's saying, and think about it thoroughly,She keeps talking while watching all the people on the dance floor without looking at me.

"Stop doing their demands, Lions are only harmless to zookeepers because they feed them, but once they stop giving them food, what do you think will happen?" I shrug my shoulder.

"They'll eat the zookeepers," she said.

I'm speechless, who is she really? How did she know that they are my friends, and I admit it they are only letting me tag along because of my money, but how did she know?

"And lastly, Lions and zookeepers can't stay in the same cage, that's not how it works, so try to find a friend who is a zookeeper like you, because they won't eat you once they get hungry." She said, stands, and placed the glass on the counter.

"And can you pay for this?" pointing on the whiskey glass that she drinks.

"I forgot my wallet on the car," She said and smile widely.

"Okay," I just answered because I'm still confused and convinced at the same time.Everything make sense, everything she said was right.

"By the way, I'm not a lion just because you paid for my drink.Think of me as a zookeeper too, It's just that today is not payday, So, Thank you for the drink," She said, and walks towards the exit while waving her hand.

I don't understand, but even I don't know her personally, those words really hit me.After she left, I paid for my drink and her drinks, which really cost a lot because she drinks almost twenty glasses of whiskey, but I don't mind it at all because she made me realize something big.I look at the direction of my so-called friend's one more time and smiles.

"Thanks for letting me meet her," I said, stands

And leave that place right away, and when my feet stepped on the outside pavements of the club, something heavy in me vanished,

THE CAGE IN MY BACK THAT I'M PULLING BY MYSELF FOR A LONG TIME.
