LOST IN A MAZE

Once again I have found solace in the gentle embrace of the rain. It was as though each drop falling from the heavens held within it a moment of reflection.

It's a great idea I strolled along the busy streets going home from work,

My footsteps echo in the soft pattern of raindrops on the ground.

As I continued walking beside the road,

the world seemed to slow down, and the cityscape transformed into a glistening, dreamlike vision.

The streets, usually bustling with activity, become emptied, leaving only the rain-soaked pavements and the cars splashing through puddles.

My leather jacket and white sneakers are soaking in water, but still protecting me from the rain,

Or rather protecting me from the total coldness of the thoughts in mind.

I hardly noticed the cold droplets trickling down my face. I welcomed the feeling as if each raindrop was washing away the stress and worries of my daily life.

The scent of wet earth grounded me in the present.

My thoughts drifted away, traversing a world inside my mind with the gentle rhythm of rainfall, and the sound of the car horns going in unison.

I let the rain bring me someplace,

cause I can't find the way,

My way,

in this life,

I'm just going with the flow of my everyday routine.

But now,

The loop is continuously going,

Nothing is changing,

It is quite strange,

that I keep on walking

and walking,

running,

and strolling,

going on,

with the path that I was dreaming of and planning from the start.

But....

Why am I feeling lost?

and the world I am now is completely different from how I envisioned.

It is now a Maze.

An endless maze,

full of walls taller than my dreams.

of obstacles,

stopping me from finding the way out.

The rain was still going,

I stopped walking and looked up at the sky.

There is nothing,

but darkness, lightning, and glimpses of light from the skyscrapers in the area.

As I continued walking.
I came across a waiting shed in front of a convenience store.

People are sheltering and waiting for the rain to stop, for them to continue what they are doing.

I decided to stop on the waiting shed as well, and wait for the next bus to come.

People are chattering while trying to shield their bodies from water splatting and falling from the roof above, and the splash of water from the ground caused by the passing cars.

Some of them are looking at me cause I am soaking wet.

I don't like people looking at me, so I decided to walk in the rain once more and went to the next bus stop cause no one was waiting there.
