Ari walked down the busy streets of the city he called home, pondering recent events. Like him becoming a superhero. And fighting a girl at school. That second one was still pretty fresh in his mind.
When his parents found out, they were not happy. His mother flipped, but his father just said he was "disappointed". In reality he didn't give a shit because he knew that girl's parents and they were nuisances too.
He'd been grounded for a week because of that incident. Today was his first day of freedom, so he was going to the park to see Kyomi. They only got to hang out at school for the past week. He didn't really in trouble at school because most of the faculty also hated the girl he kicked in the face. And her parents.
Ari was so preoccupied with his thoughts that he didn't notice his new speedster friend approaching him at the speed of sound.
"OI! AMATEUR KID!"
Ari turned and was very startled to see the speedster running straight for him. Luckily he stopped just before they collided.
"I've looked around everywhere for you! Literally, I spent the entirety of my afternoon running around looking for someone with messy black hair and a red hoodie."
Ari ran a hand through his hair.
"It's not that messy..."
"Whatever, we have work to do. Come on, I'll tell you the deets at my place."
"What the fuck does that mean?!"
Shiro grabbed him by his shoulders, and in four seconds they were no longer on a sidewalk but outside of a garage.
"Where are we?" Ari asked, before immediately throwing up.
"Sorry 'bout the jet lag. We're at a garage. People come here to like customize their cars, it's called Quick Paint. Pretty dope right? My uncle owns the place. I like to chill here when I'm supposed to be doing schoolwork."
They entered the garage and Ari looked around. There were two sorts cars on the other side of the room. Shiro sat at a crowded desk.
"So you wanted to tell me something?"
Shiro looked at him, suddenly remembering why they were here.
"Oh yeah. So remember that support item I stole?"
"Yeah, what was that about anyway?"
"Not important. What is important is who I stole it from."
Ari gave him a puzzled look.
"I thought you took it from those guys that were looking for you."
     Shiro smirked.
"Nope. I got it from the guys who were giving it to those guys."
When Ari didn't say anything, he continued.
"And the guys I got it from were the same guys who almost killed you in the park yesterday."
     Ari nodded.
"So diamond guy is selling weapons to random dudes? Cool. How does that help us?"
"I think I know where they're getting their weapons from."

     "No fucking way." Ari deadpanned.
"Dude come on, we have too."
Ari looked up at the Venus Labs building and wanted to throw up again.
"We can't just walk into an actual laboratory. You do see why this isn't a thing we can do right? Right? Shiro?"
The speedster in question was looking at something just past Ari's shoulder.
"That's exactly what we're going to do. And there's are entrance ticket."
In the blink of an eye, Ari and Shrio we're not only in the building, but also surrounded by middle schoolers. They had infiltrated a field trip. Great. Just great.
"This isn't gonna work." Ari whispered to Shiro as he tried not to make eye contact with any of the students surrounding them. Instead he focused on the awesome hero support items on display.
Red crystal wings caught his attention first. Then he noticed the super armor almost as big as a truck. Awesome! Wait they were on a mission. No time for ogling.
"Of course this is gonna work. There are two schools here. So, just blend in. If anyone talks to you say you're from the other school, they won't know."
Ari didn't like the thought of that. Fighting guys with guns he could do. But talk to people his age?
"Social interaction is like my kryptonite."
"Well you better build up an immunity and soon. I'm gonna scope the place out, act natural and don't do anything suspicious."
Ari was about to protest being left alone but shiro was already gone.
       "Fuck."
Casually, he made his way over to that awesome armor he saw earlier. His plan was to just stare at it until shiro came back. When he heard someone approaching him, he happily turned around hoping to see his speedster friend.
     This guy definitely wasn't Shiro.
"Pretty cool isn't it? They call it the Nitride Armor. It's supposed to be strong enough to life a house or something. It's fireproof and can really take a hit....."
The mystery guy went on, but Ari wasn't listening. As he talked, the mystery guy ran a hand through his spiky brown hair. His amber colored eyes seemed to twinkle as he talked. His smile was so bright it made Ari happy just seeing it.
     "Cool right?"
Ari suddenly realized he was supposed to be having a conversation.
    "Oh-uh-yeah it's pretty-uh-radical."
   Ari smiled weakly.
" I'm Kuro Tiku! Nice to meet you!"
Kuro held out his hand, and Ari shook it. All he could think about was how soft his hand was.
Shiro scanned the sea of kids he never met for his black haired friend. Eventually he found him, talking to some guy. Well, talking wasn't the right word. The dude was talking, but Ari was just staring dreamily.
"Excuse me, I need to borrow my friend here." Shiro cut into their conversation, pulling Ari away. Kuro looked confused. "See ya around!" He shouted after him.
