The moment you saw them again

The moment you saw them again. That moment was one that you would never forget. It was one that you weren't expecting.

You were taking a picture with your best friend from your high school. Your graduation cap and gown adorned your body as you held up your diploma with a bright smile. "Smile, (y/n)!" called your mom as she held her phone up to take the photo.

It was truly joyous that day. You felt free from so much and you knew that you could now take on more hours at your summer job so you could finally afford a flight back to Japan. You would finally be able to see them again.

Months had passed since your time in Japan at this point, and there was hardly a moment that you weren't thinking about your time there. It may have seemed like a short trip to those that you returned to— it wasn't even a semester— but so much of your current self was built upon your experiences there.

Your friends, your teachers, your family all noticed a change in you. Confidence came easier to you, and you were overall much more happy. You got questions about whether or not you found friends over there and you always gave an enthusiastic "Yes!"

You never knew how to answer questions about whether you found a lover or not, that was much more complicated overall. It's not that you didn't want to show off your boyfriends— literally you wanted nothing more— but it was going to be hard to explain and you didn't really want your interesting relationship on blast to all of your high school.

Those close to you knew, and your one club had suspicions based on Bokuto FaceTiming you in the middle of a meeting because he couldn't sleep that night. They made you answer it when they found out that it was someone you met in Japan, and when he answered the call with "Hey, baby!" excitedly, you knew you were going to be in hot water.

Not to mention that Bokuto had decided to post a picture of the two of you together on his Instagram and someone in that same club happened to stumble upon it somehow. He hadn't actually tagged you out of fear that you would be eaten alive by his growing audience of obsessed girls and he chose a picture that didn't show your face, but your acquaintance still knew that it was you.

The post was so nice, but still made you nervous. It was a picture of the two of you that he had taken the one morning that you had stayed over his house. It was early whenever he dragged you in to the bathroom. Your hair was messy, you were still wearing the clothes that he had let you borrow, and you had your puffy morning face, so you opted to bury your face in his chest as he took the picture.

You still remembered how he smiled at it and said, "You look so tiny and cute in my clothes."

As soon as you saw the picture, you also smiled. Your matching shirts and gray sweatpants as he wrapped an arm around your and smiled his big goofy smile in the mirror made your heart melt.
