"You think you're such a hard boy baby. That's just the fix I'm into lately."- Frawley, Hard Boy
Chapter Six
-DINNER WAS NICE. As Hakai finally sat herself down on the dining table, facing both of her parents in her freshly changed clothes, it seems as if the chaos that the day had brought her was wearing off.
Well..
Not until her mother decided to break the silence.
"Kai, honey, your school called earlier."
Hakai looked up from her food, still chewing on the sushi.
She swallowed her food and spoke. "What'd they say?"
Her mother and father exchanged glances.
"They want you to get your stuff." Her mom answered vaguely.
Hakai blinked at them, then got back to eating her food, shrugging.
"Oh, we must be moving dorms early."
It was previously discussed by their homeroom teacher that since they were becoming second years, they had to move to the second year dormitories. That's why this news didn't come as a surprise to Hakai at all.
"Honey, that's not it." Her mother said again.
Hakai looked at her blue-haired mother with furrowed brows.
Hakai's hair abomination didn't come from either of her parents- surprise, surprise! Her mother had dark blue hair and dark blue eyes that matched. And her father had pitch black hair like most of the Sero's.
At birth, it was determined by the doctors that her hair abomination was likely caused by her quirk- which was later on confirmed when they figured out what it was when she was four.
"What do you mean then?" Hakai asked cluelessly.
"They want you to get your things from Shiketsu as soon as possible because..." Her mother looked like she was having a hard time trying to say the words.
That was before her father decided to cut to the chase.
"They're transferring you to UA."
The sound of glass breaking echoed throughout the dining room.
It was just then that Hakai realized she dropped her glass of water into the floor.
"W-What?"
-
"Todoroki, my man!" Sero greeted as he opened the door to find the Half-Hot Half-Cold hero in training who had a stoic expression plastered on his face.
"How'd it go?" Hanta asked, interested at what happened.
He knew Hakai to be uptight when it came to men- especially with her upbringing at Shiketsu High where they're not even allowed to date. So when she agreed to this blind date thing- though half-heartedly- Hanta was ecstatic.
Now all he had to do was find out how the date went, schedule a couple more, and see his cousin happy.
"She didn't show." Was Todoroki's blank response as he brushed shoulders with Hanta, leaving the black haired boy slack-jawed.
"Hold on- what?!" Hanta panicked.
Todoroki halted in his steps. "I waited for more than two hours. Your cousin didn't show."
Kaminari and Kirishima who were sitting down on the couch secretly listened in the conversation while they pretended to watch a movie.
"That's impossible!" Sero reasoned. "Kai-chan doesn't go back on her word like that. Maybe-"
"Well she did go back on her word." Todoroki deadpanned.
"Now if you'll excuse me.." He glanced around the room, lightly narrowing his eyes at a suspicious looking Kaminari and Kirishima as he did so.
"I'll be in my room."
Sero gaped at Todoroki's retreating back.
A few minutes later, he facepalmed, his back against the door he just shut.
"What was that all about?" Kaminari feigned innocence as he and Kirishima walked over to where Sero was.
Sero shook his head in disappointment, still not believing that his cousin would go back on her word and ditch Todoroki.
"It's nothing." He sighed dejectedly.
Kaminari and Kirishima exchanged guilt-filled glances.
They knew shouldn't have helped Bakugo. Now look how lonely their best friend Sero is.
"You can tell us, man " The redhead lightly patted Sero's back.
"We're here for you."
Sero looked up from the floor and sighed, "It's-"
"DIE!" The door exploded.
Well, partly exploded.
This is UA we're talking about. Their dorms are just about as durable as All Might in his Silver Age.
Only the lock was exploded open. The door was intact.
All Might and Aizawa who were right behind Bakugo sweatdropped at the kid's antics.
They knew he was dejected by the fact that his date had up and left him- but not this dejected.
Kirishima helped Kaminari and Sero get up when they were knocked down by the sudden explosion. They all looked up to see their other best friend.
The two- Kirishima and Kaminari- could only guess how bad the date went judging by their ash blonde friend's appearance.
There at the doorway stood Katsuki Bakugo, wearing ripped and burnt dress pants, a partly exploded and toasted polo shirt, ashy dress shoes, and a permanent angry scowl.
He angrily looked up at the three boys who were in front of him. Then, he spotted Sero.
"YOU!" He threateningly pointed.
He took quick angry strides towards the boy. His crimson red eyes glared daggers into Sero's soul.
All Might and Aizawa looked at the scene worriedly.
Aizawa was about to use his scarves to restrain the ash blonde boy before All Might held out a hand to stop him as if saying, "Wait."
Sero was suddenly pulled by his shirt collar. He looked at Bakugo in both confusion and slight fear.
He doesn't know why the explodo-boy was targeting him right now.
Also, he did not want to get exploded three minutes after he was just wallowing about his cousin going back on her word. Nope, nu-uh.
Bakugo snarled at Sero.
"Call Hakai and ask her if she's okay."
And with that, he dropped a very confused Sero back on his feet and walked out the room.
Kirishima and Kaminari exchanged knowing glances, sharing the same thought.
'Well this just got interesting.'
