"It's a curse to be called your cousin- a curse." Hakai to Hanta, Rule No. 1
Prologue
-HANTA SERO WAS on a mission. No, this isn't a covert one that he could possibly be in trouble with- though he wouldn't be in trouble had he been caught doing such because of his provisional license- nevertheless, this was a mission that didn't require any hero-ing.
He took a deep breath as he entered the 2-A common room. As almost-second years, their dorm building was recently renovated to look a tad bit better than the previous year.
With the League of Villains still on the loose, the security of their high school had to be upped a bit as well.
Given the situation, they're staying in their dorms even though they're in the middle of break. Yeah, they've been ex-1st years for one week now. Two weeks left and it's back-to-school for them as second years.
Admittedly, the school year break between 1st and 2nd year is sort of short- given that it's barely a month- but their in-between-semesters breaks last long so it's given that they have to make up for lost days. Especially with everything that went on in the previous year at UA, they had to adjust a lot.
"Hey man, you got a minute?" Hanta Sero's voice made every head snap towards him.
Every head except the one he was calling- he sweatdropped.
He waved off everyone- Mina Ashido, Denki Kaminari, Eijiro Kirishima, Minoru Mineta, and Tenya Iida- before he started walking towards the one guy he actually needed. The guy was seated in front of the study table across the room, reading some kind of book.
Everyone went back to doing whatever they were doing.
Sero, on the other hand halted in his tracks once he got to the person he wanted to talk to. He tapped the guy's shoulder.
A pair of heterochromatic eyes snapped towards his direction, intimidating the guy a bit. He gulped, wondering if he was really making the right decision.
'Come on, Hanta. There's no use backing out now.' He internally battled with himself.
"Sero." Shoto Todoroki's voice was barely above a whisper but he got it.
"Todoroki.." Sero trailed off. "You got a minute?"
"Sure." The boy shrugged, closing the book that he was previously reading as he turned towards the boy with tape dispensers for elbows.
"Ah, well.. you see-" Sero scratched the back of his head as he tried to find the right words to say.
"You're a good man, Todoroki. Probably the best guy in Class A." He buttered him up. "So if it's not a total bother, would you..."
"Would you mind taking my cousin out on a date?"
Todoroki blinked.
"A date?" He repeated what Sero had just told him.
Wow, a proposition like this isn't something you'd see everyday.
Especially from someone like Sero.
Sero is more of the joking type and doesn't take things seriously, especially when he's with friends- but that doesn't take away the fact that he's a laid-back serious type when he wants to. Kind of like Kirishima and Kaminari.
"Yeah, a date." Sero pursed his lips.
"I approached you about this because you're the only man I can trust with my cousin- no offense to all my friends." Sero scratched the back of his head.
"But I think you're most suitable for the job- er.. for my cousin."
"What's her name?" Todoroki asked, suddenly finding the proposal rather nice.
"Hakai Sero." Sero then took this as an opportunity to boast about his beloved cousin.
"She's a second year at Shiketsu High. They also had something like our Sports Festival, and won first place. She won against that guy you used to have bad blood with- Inasa?"
Todoroki nodded, remembering his now good friend Inasa Yoarashi. They had ended whatever fight it was between them and became civil.
"Yeah, anyway, Hakai's very talented, smart, and her looks come from the Sero's so she's way pretty. Basically, my couz is a total package." Sero boasted.
Todoroki hummed in approval. "She seems like a nice person."
It's true.
The fact that she beaten Inasa Yoarashi at their own sports festival piked his interest. A girl like that must be strong both quirk and personality-wise.
He'd like to get to know her.
"Oh she is!" Sero grinned. "So what do you say?"
Todoroki pondered over it a bit. After a little bit of consideration, he smiled at Hanta Sero.
"Sure." He smiled. "I'll take your cousin out on a date."
Mission complete for Hanta Sero!
As Sero cheered and Todoroki smiled to himself, they didn't notice the crimson-eyed ash blonde boy who'd been listening in on their conversation from the start.
And was severely pissed...
Why?
Because apparently, Todoroki was the 'Best guy in Class A'.
And that made Bakugo really pissed off.
Bakugo growled underneath his breath as mini explosions went off in his palm.
'That damn icy-hot.'
