Song above if you want to listen to it

There's somethin' bout the way
The street looks when it's just rained

"Hey Rem." Remus looked up from trying to read the blurb of Janus' book upside-down. "The rain's stopped."

Remus looked up and a slow grin spread across his face. He grabbed Janus' hands and started trying to pull him out from under the protection of the shop overhang.

"C'mon, c'mon, c'mon!" He said excitedly, not caring how odd it looked that a legal adult was behaving like a child in public. Janus laughed and pulled Remus back to his side. He pressed a kiss to the top of Remus' head.

"You're an idiot, Rem." He said fondly.

"I know but can we go home now?" Remus asked, bouncing on the spot. Janus laughed again and pushed his fringe out his eyes.

There's a glow off the pavement
You walk me to the car

Remus did a little half-tap dance as he and Janus walked over to their car.

"You'll soak your shoes if you're not careful." Janus said absently, knowing this wouldn't really stop Remus. Remus shrugged but, to Janus' surprise, stopped dancing. Instead, he focused his eyes on the pavement and watched with a kind of delight at the light of the streetlamps reflected.

"You okay, Rem?" Janus asked.

Remus nodded enthusiastically. "Mhm. I'm perfect. I just like the look of the pavement, that's all." He grinned.

And you know I wanna ask you to dance right there
In the middle of the parking lot
Yeah
Oh, yeah

"Can we dance? Instead of just me dancing." Remus asked as Janus dug around in his pockets for the car keys. Janus raised an eyebrow at his boyfriend.

"Rem, you know I can't dance." He said.

"Yeah you can!" Remus protested. "You just think you can't but you can."

"Rem, have you seen the keys?" Janus asked, ignoring what Remus had just said. Remus nodded.

"Yeah, you put them in your bag with all the books." He pointed at Janus' bag as he said this.

We're drivin' down the road
I wonder if you know
I'm tryin' so hard not to get caught up now

Remus tapped his hands on his knees as he watched the trees and houses cruise by.

"How fast can we go?" He asked. Janus didn't even spare him a glance.

"Rem, we're in a 30 zone. I think that should answer your question." He said, moving his head slightly as he focused on the road. Remus sighed and stopped tapping his hands on his knees.

Instead, he crossed his arms and looked at Janus. He really was lucky to have Janus as a boyfriend. As well as being kind and clever and incredibly patient with Remus, Janus was also probably the hottest person Remus had ever seen. Though maybe that was just Remus because most people didn't see that when they saw Janus. Remus knew that Janus knew what people said about him behind his back, even to his face in some cases, so Remus made it his personal mission to make sure that Janus knew he was loved and perfect just as he was. As far as he could tell, he was succeeding relatively well so far.

But you're just so cool
Run your hands through your hair
Absent mindedly makin' me want you

Janus ran a hand through his hair absentmindedly and that's when Remus realised he'd been staring too long. At a red light, Janus managed to snatch a glance at Remus.

"You okay, Rem? You're red in the face." He asked, almost like he didn't know he was the best person alive.

"I'm fine." Remus said quickly, very aware of how red his face was. Janus tilted his head slightly.

"Okay. If you're sure." He looked back at the road and Remus breathed out. Janus hadn't noticed he'd been staring. Again.

Janus smiled a little to himself. It was fun to see Remus flustered, when he was usually the one doing the flustering. Janus ran a hand through his hair again, knowing basically anything he did drove Remus crazy. And it was fun to get his own back a little.

And I don't know how it gets better than this
You take my hand and drag me head first
Fearless

Remus looked out the window and his eyes lit up. He grabbed Janus' hand and started trying to drag him off the sofa. Janus looked up from his book in confusion.

"Rem- Rem, where are we going?" He asked. Remus bounced on the spot excitedly before pulling on Janus' hand again.

"Out! Out, out, out!" He said excitedly and gave no more information than that. Janus looked out the window.

"Rem, it's pouring outside!"

"Don't care! We're going out!" Remus declared.

And I don't know why
But with you I'd dance in a storm
In my best dress
Fearless

Janus covered his eyes as Remus pulled him out into the back garden and pouring rain. Remus laughed and let go of Janus' hand, spinning around with arms outstretched in the torrential storm.

Janus raised an eyebrow at Remus through his already-soaked fringe, not impressed. "Can we go back inside now?" He asked, crossing his arms across himself to try and conserve heat. Remus shook his head in delight.

"Nope! Since you said we couldn't dance back in the car park, we're dancing now!" Remus said. Janus shook his head.

"No way-" Before he could finish his sentence, Remus grabbed his hand and pulled him forwards into a sort of make-shift waltz stance. "Rem, no way am I dancing."

Remus wrapped his arm around Janus' waist and grinned at him. "Well, tough, we're dancing anyway." He spun around in the rain, pulling Janus along with him. Janus rolled his eyes but went along with the dance. As long as Remus was happy, Janus was too.

Janus started humming a little tune so they had an actual beat to dance to and this made Remus laugh even more.

"See? You're getting into it!" He crowed delightedly. "You're having fun."

Janus rolled his eyes again but this didn't stop the smile spreading across his face. He leaned forwards and kissed Remus softly. Remus sighed a little and pulled Janus closer.

"I love you." Remus whispered against Janus' lips. Janus felt a pink blush rush up to his face.

"I love you too."
