Hey yall. So my schedule will be hectic for the next few months but I will try to publish whenever I have the chance :)

Alright back to your regularly scheduled programming.

(Virgil's POV)

Princey is onto me.

I talked with Remy and apparently that idiot let it slip that he knew me. Well, knew me as my real self and not just this alter ego. I've noticed that Princey has seemed a bit on edge recently. I've only been here a few weeks and when I first arrived he was much more...

extra?

Is that the right term?

Honestly I don't know what to do. I've gone down to visit De on multiple occasions and he is looking horrible. Any longer and I fear he may not make it through the mission. The problem is..

I like it here.

I can't explain it. Maybe it's because I am free to walk around in daylight with no fear? Maybe it's the fact I have people to talk to like Remy, and Princey. Dammit.

Usually when missions start to go south I will simply eliminate any possible loose ends and cover my tracks but I can't this time. I can't leave here. I can't leave him..

Wait what?

Nope. No. Do not do this to yourself Virgil. You have known him for only a month.

ONLY A MONTH.

Then why does it feel like so much longer?

"Hello there my dear Malick!" Speak of the devil.

"What do you want Princey?" I turn and look at him, setting the basket of laundry on the floor in the castle corridor. He walked up to me with a smile on his face.

"Nothing, just wanted to talk with you." With an eye roll I sigh and gesture to the basket on the marble floor, "Yes... I see you have chores. But forget them. This is more important."

"Sorry, sir. I can't just drop everything for you whenever you ask."

"au contraire," he picks up my basket and puts it on his head, out of my reach, "you absolutely can." I jump and reach for the basket as he laughs.

"This isn't funnyyyy" He cracks up more, his arms growing weak. The basket falls and the clothes are scattered across the floor, "OH MY GOD" I quickly scramble to pick up the mess, glaring at Princey while I do so.

"Just leave it,"

"No."

"What if order you?"

"No."

"Come onnn" I throw a piece of clothing back in the basket with much force.

"Why are you so annoying sometimes?" He poses, flashing a charming smile.

"It's one of my many qualities. Now come on," he puts his hand out for me to take, "do you trust me?"

"No. Absolutely not." Despite my better judgement, I still take his hand and instantly he begins running through the halls. We are dodging servants and nobles all with confused faces until he stops at the door leading to the courtyard. He looks over at me, placing a finger on his lips to let me know to be quiet. Our hands never left each others.

Princey slowly opens the door and peers out before once again taking off, almost pulling my arm out of it's socket. We didn't slow until we were hidden in a small patch of trees. The same ones De and I used to sneak in so many weeks ago.

He lets go of my hand and climbs a tree sitting himself on a branch. I look up at him, unmoving.

"Come join me," I shake my head, "Please?" There was this look in his eyes. Maybe it was hope? It doesn't matter. I shake my head again and proceed to sit in the dirt, picking at a small patch of grass. He groans and leans back on the branch almost falling which makes me laugh, "you are intolerable sometimes."

"And you, sir, are a contradiction." I laugh.

"I'm the contradiction?"

"Yes, you!"

"Please explain your reasoning,"

I point a pale finger in his direction, "You continue to try and speak with me even though we barely know each other. You never stop annoying me and when you force me to comply, you still call me intolerable."

"Well yea," he gestures out looking at me, "but you still didn't come and sit with me-"

"But I did let you drag me all the way out here. By the way, why did you drag me here anyway?" He shrugs.

"I guess," Princey pauses, "I guess other than Remy, you are really the only other person I talk to." I laugh and shake my head.

"What about your brother?"

"My brother." I nod before realizing he is looking out seemingly in a daze, "we don't talk a lot anymore. He has grown distant ever since the break in. Him and father have talked more and more. It's unnerving, but at least the king isn't on my case...." His voice slowly goes away as he just lies there, fiddling with something around his neck, "sorry. I know that was probably to much information."

"No, no," I stand up and walk towards him, placing a hand on his shoulder, "you are dealing with a lot. You have nothing to be sorry for." Internally I cringed at this emotional conversation.

Princey looked over at me and smiled softly. Without thinking I gave a warm smile back. Our eyes stayed on each other until I looked away, my eyes going to the small item in his hand.

"What's that?" I ask, nodding towards it. He looks at his hand and opens it slightly revealing a small black pendant hanging from a simple chord.

"Oh this?" He takes it off as he sits up and leans over so I can see it, "I got it out in the market. Isnt it beautiful? Its from-"

"The moon kingdom." I finished. He nods, "why did you get this?" He shrugs.

"It was enchanting. I can't really say. Something in me told me I had to get it." Princey looks up at me. I stared intently at the enchanting pendant, "the merchant told me he bought it off some old beggar or something and that it might have belonged to royals. Here!" He gestures for me to take it.

"No. I couldn't." He groans.

"Oh come on. It's just a pendant. Here." The beaming boy forces the necklace into my hands.

Suddenly around me, the world started to change. The last thing I could here from reality was Princey calling out to me..
