Virgil darn messed up

(Roman's POV)

How did he know about the cellar? I never once mentioned it. Only one other person knew about that. I look over at Malick.

"Malick," I spoke calmly, "Malick I never said anything about a cellar." I watched as the man in front of me visibly froze.

"I. uh-"

"How did you know about the cellar?"

"Well-" he paused, thinking of something to say, but it was too long.

"You... you aren't Malick are you?" the man opened his mouth to speak before quickly shutting it. I stood up instantly and took a step towards him. He didn't dare look me in the eye, "who are you?" Slowly his eyes met mine and he rose, never saying a word, "I said," I took another step towards him, "who are you?"

His eyes flicked to the side and he began to run, trying to escape to the door but before he could get to far I grab his wrist, pulling him back. I pushed him a little forcefully into a nearby bookcase. He pushes against me trying to make a run for it but I hold his arms firmly. There was no way he could run.

"Answer my question. Who are you?" His panic began to grow as energy rushed over us.

"Let me go," he spoke sternly. I wish I knew it was a warning, "Let. me. go." he repeated.

"Not until you tell me who you are,"

"You know who I am," he said quietly. The energy around us spiked as shades of violet encircled the boy, till they burst out and shot away from him. The blast knocked me down, making me let go of him. All around, the energy was still strong and purple swirled.

"I told you to let me go," he looked up at me with eyes completely purple, "you didn't listen" His hair began to change to a dark, raven black. His skin paled.

"Virgil," I breathed out. This entire time. He was right here. He was right here this whole time.

"Move aside." Virgil's voice was cold and distant, as if something else was speaking for him. The violet swirls never left him.

Recollecting myself, I stood up and stood my ground.

"No." There was a flicker in the purple haze as Virgil tilted his head at me, "Virgil you need to calm down." He laughed.

"Calm down?" Slowly the purple haze began to disperse, thought the surging energy still remained, "I am not one who can simply 'calm down'" Carefully, I took a step towards him.

"V, it's ok,"

"Don't call me that!" The cold voice returned and the violet haze became stronger. In irritation I took another step towards him, "You don't get to call me that."

"Virgil- Virgil listen to me." The haze and energy grew, building up to the point it would break. I couldn't think of what to do to fix it or help him. He was angry, from what I'm not really sure but there is no stopping him.

"You. Don't. Know. Me." He spoke, the distant voice still there.

"You're right, I don't. But I would like to." In a moment filled with fear, excitement and who knows what else, I did maybe the single most idiotic thing I have ever done in my life. Worse than any other decision I have possibly made.

I reached for him.

And he shoved me away. Literally. He threw me into the wall.

"You don't want to know me, Princey. Believe me." I stood up and rushed towards him again like a dumb ass. This time he froze me in my place. I watched helplessly as he glided across the room to me, "People around me..." he paused, "...they get hurt. They die."

No matter how much I wanted to speak, I couldn't.

"Everyone dies around me." As he began to walk away from me and towards the window, his spell became weaker. Weak enough for me to speak.

"I don't believe you." Virgil stopped and turned to me.

"It doesn't matter. It's true." With those last few words there was a blur of violet and he was gone. His spell disappeared causing me to fall down onto the ground. All of a sudden my door was being broken down and the king walked in in a sort of rage.

He scanned the entire room in search of something before finally coming to tend to his son. Other guards were posted around the room, searching every corner. My father stood above me. Silent.

Soon Remy came running in along with Emilia.

"Roman!" Remy called out. He took hold of my arm, "Roman what happened." I look up at him, still in a slight daze.

"Virgil. He- He was hear." This caught the kings attention as his eyes drilled holes into my head before his eyes found something else much more interesting. Remy and Emilia both held me, rocking me back and forth. I was shaking. Too much. This was all too much.

"Bring that to me." My father spoke sternly. Confused, I tried to turn my head to see what it was he was beckoning to.

With an outstretched, bony finger, the sun king pointed towards the black necklace place atop a piece of cloth on the window sill.
