"She is no conquest... She's the love of my life!!" Rohan paced the room up and down, trying to calm his temper.
"I am infact with Priya right now. I am spending the night with her!!" The words tumbled out of Rohan's mouth even before he could think.
And as he realised what he'd just said, he froze.
His dadi too seemed to be in shock, because she too didn't say anything.
"Good night" his dadi whispered after a long silence, before she disconnected the call.
But Rohan hadn't heard her. His own voice was ringing in his ears.
Priya - the love of his life?
His heart hammered in his head and his feet seemed to be made of lead as he turned to slump down on his bed.
But his eyes fell on Priya, who was standing by the bathroom door, looking at him with wide eyes.
Miles away, Rajshree blinked at the phone she'd just put down, her eyes wide in horror.
"I told you, he loves her!!" Alka grinned, pouring a cup of steaming hot tea for herself and her mother in law.
The two ladies were sat outside on the porch overlooking the garden and the large pond.
They had been intending to call it a night earlier, when they'd gotten a call from Tara - Rohan's PR, that he has gone to Rakesh and Aarna's engagement.
That was a shock indeed - for Rohan never attended such functions!
To top it off, they'd also learnt that Priya - the girl for whom Rohan is so crazy about, is also present there.
Alka was flying in the clouds when she'd learnt it, but Rajshree was livid.
"Dadiji, I know it's not my place to talk in this but please leave Rohan alone. He likes Priya a lot. Don't interfere in their lives. Let Rohan be in peace! Please call off this engagement with Ishitha Lamba and let your grandson be happy for once!" Tara had called to tell Rajashree, who'd just dismissed her words.
But now, to have heard the confession from Rohan.... Rajashree was shaken!
"My son is in love!!" Alka said fondly, sipping on her tea.
It was one thing to hear Rohan tell her that he's in love with this girl. But for him to also say that he's spending the night with her??
Rajashree sipped on her tea, shaking her head.
Rohan was always secretive about his personal life, and Rajashree was stumped by what her just told her!! She knew that he's a very friendly guy, and that he doesn't date the girls with whom his pictures get clicked - all those were just PR stunts.
"My son is in love!! He'll marry for love!!" Alka clutched at her heart and eased back on the lounger. She couldn't help but feel happy - Rohan's womanizer image had scared her. She'd thought he doesn't want marriage and kids and family! Even Rohan had told her that he wants to take up celibacy and live in the mountains, or move to Netherlands and spend his life in seclusion!
But Priya had given birth to a hope in Alka - her son seemed happier too now! And Rohan had just confessed he's in love!
"We don't know anything about that girl!! She is not from our circles... She... What if she's a gold-digger?? What if she's using my cookie for money? What it she hurts my cookie??" Rajashree sighed, rubbing her forehead.
"Mummy ji!! I've met her! She's not a gold-digger!! She's an independent girl, a very sweet girl! She's my bahu!" Alka said, beaming at her mother in law.
