Whilst Diya wiped the corner of his mouth, Nikhil opened his mouth for more, and chuckling, she brought the spoonful of rich soup-y Maggie to his lips.
"Someone had said they're not hungry!" Diya scoffed, though smiling at how Nikhil licked his lips and moaned as he ate.
He looked so adorable, like a small kid. She wanted to cuddle him and kiss his cheeks!
But she fed him more or the soup, thinking how to approach the topic - of why he is so sad today.
Priya of course is a master in all these things. She can understand a person without so much analysis! She's a psychologist, true, but she had the uncanny ability to calm anybody down, in any moment. She understood others in ways that normal people couldn't.
Maybe that's why she's able to manage Rohan, Diya thought. Not any girl would be able to manage herself or the thoughts creeping inside her head, with a boyfriend like Rohan! Popular amongst females and exceptionally good looking, Diya knew she at least would go mad with insecurity and jealousy if her man was like Rohan!
But her cheeks turned pink at the realisation that though Nikhil had a history with women and his flirting nature, he also had this clingy adorable vulnerable side to him, and she bit her lip to stop that shy smile reaching her ears! She liked to see him show this side to her - it rather made her feel special in ways she just couldn't describe!
Diya had been worried at the way in which Priya had rushed out of the hotel earlier during dinner, but then just an hour ago she'd texted her, saying she was with Rohan, and Diya knew that where she was, at least she's safe!!
She did have a feeling that Rohan was the reason why Priya had left from their dinner. They'd not met in a week, maybe Priya had been missing him!
"This is my new comfort food" Nikhil moaned, as Diya fed him a piece of the nicely toasted paneer from the Maggie.
"Told ya... Good food equals good mood" Diya grinned proudly.
Nikhil looked at her, feeling very much at peace with the world.
"Thank you" he smiled rather sadly, once she'd finished feeding him and even wiped his mouth with a tissue.
"No problem... I think I'll meet your mom and tell her that I need extra payment... For babysitting you" Diya sniggered, trying to make him smile.
But he just sighed and shook his head.
"I saw my ex today" he blew all the air out of his lungs, and Diya blinked at him, her eyes going wide.
Did she hear him right?
"Hmm I.... I've only properly dated one girl... Before you.... She.... She's a cousin of the Raichands... I knew her before of course, but we met property at Abhi and Naina's wedding, and we started dating.... I thought that was it... I thought... I was ready to settle down" Nikhil shook his head.
But Diya was staring at him with wide eyes, and he gulped. She hadn't said anything about his sleeping around, but come on, which girl would be okay after hearing that the guy she's dating was really serious with his ex?
"Settle down??" Diya narrowed her eyes at him, suddenly looking rather cold.
And Nikhil gulped.
"I saw my ex. She is married and pregnant. I haven't seen her in over a year... it was quite a shock to find out that she's married and pregnant. The end" Nikhil said it all in one go, ending with a laugh that felt like a bleating goat.
But Diya's eyes turned to slits and sweat pooled on his forehead.
"Nice Maggi" he tried to deviate the topic, indicating the empty bowl she'd put down on the coffee table.
