Moving through the isles, Priya picked up another bar of chocolate and put it into her trolley, her head throbbing painfully.
But she sighed, and turned to the next isle, picking up a packet in random and reading through the ingredients list.
In reality, her mind was lost. Since the previous evening, her heart and mind had been at war, and finally, her heart had won. But her mind wasn't happy about it.
'If Rohan doesn't believe in commitments or relationships then what does he mean by calling me his girlfriend?' her mind kept taunting her.
But her heart swooned at how he'd kissed her, as he had parked the car of a very fancy restaurant last evening. He had escorted her in, like a gentleman, and all evening he'd fed her, gazed at her without a care in the world!
And he'd gazed so blatantly at her, running his hand along her waist and her back every opportunity he got, holding her hand and kissing her fingers tenderly!
She couldn't be angry on him even if she wanted to.
'Goodbye marriage and a happily ever after!' her mind taunted again.
'But what's that look in his eyes as he gazes so intently?' her heart reminded, and Priya's face split into an involuntary smile as she recalled the warmth in his eyes as he'd gazed at her all evening!
And then when Priya had said that she didn't feel so good, he'd taken her to the beach. They'd spent an hour walking along the beach, the cool breeze hitting their faces as he'd walked beside her, holding her hand. And just before they'd left the beach, he'd cupped her face and kissed her so tenderly... her heart still swooned at that!
But Priya's heart twisted as Diya's text message popped in her mind.
Diya had texted her at half past ten in the morning, telling her that both her's and Nikhil's families had agreed for their marriage.
As happy as Priya felt for her best friend, her heart twisted unpleasantly at her own fate - whilst Diya would get married and be happy, she'd still be Rohan's girlfriend!
Forever? Tears stung her eyes.
But she jumped to reality as she heard the familiar buzz of her phone, sniffing her tears away, she pulled it out of her bag, to find Rohan's name on the screen.
She disconnected the call and tossed the phone back into her bag. She'd been avoiding Rohan's calls since morning telling him she's busy and now, she didn't know how else to avoid him?
She wanted to clear her mind before she met him. Else she'd hurt him very badly she knew it! So, in a bid to get some space for him, Priya had left office earlier than usual, and the need for chocolate had brought her here, to this shopping mall far away from her office, as well as her home - some where she knew Rohan wouldn't be able to find her!
'marriage and Rohan are definitely not on the same page. Does this mean that I want to get married so badly, I'll break up with Rohan?' her heart questioned her.
'But what about marriage and kids and the settled life I do deserve?' her mind questioned.
And as her heart got into another war with her mind, she turned, only to bump into someone.
"Oh I'm so sorry" she mumbled, hardly noticing whom she'd bumped into.
But...
"Dr. Desai?" The familiar feminine voice made Priya look around, only to find herself facing a middle aged woman, beaming at her.
Priya blinked - wasn't she the same stern woman who'd come to her office saying it's an emergency, without an appointment, and had left after barely a fifteen minutes session? The woman had refrained from even giving her name.
