"Tere maathe jhumar damke
Tere kaanon baali chamke hai re"Priya and Adi twirled together before they both pointed at Diya and sang along -
"Mahi ve"
All the people around whooped and clapped. Diya herself was shimmying her hips as she sat in fromt of the stage, gazing at her brother and her best friend dancing for her.
"Tere haathon kangna khanke
Tere pairon paayal chhanke hai re
Maahi ve"The disco lights went from white to pink to red to orange to blue and back to white, flashing brightly at the beat of the song.
Whilst Adi and Priya danced at the center of the large make-shift stage that had been erected at the garden behind the haveli, the two brides were sat on elegant sofas right in front of the stage. There were two sofas - for the two pairs of brides and grooms. There were overhead disco lights and five different spot-lights over the stage.
Diya was sitting on her white leather sofa, the seat beside her empty - for Nikhil, whilst Aarna was sat on the black leather sofa, the seat beside her for Rakesh.
The whole garden was decked with lights and flowers and streamers. Different varieties of chairs and poufs had been arranged all around the stage, with the drinks and food tables at the side of the garden.
The entrance to the garden from the haveli was decorated with fairy lights and the path leading upto the seating area was carpeted, with fairy lights all around, and large flower pots on either side, making the whole setting look very elegant and bright.
The waiters were going around serving drinks and food, whilst the grooms' side guests were still making their way. The sangeeth being an intimate program, not a lot of people were invited - just the immediate family members of the Mehtas and the Rawals, and of course, close friends!
The elders from the Rawal family had arrived too - dadaji had personally lead them to the garden to where the sangeeth was being held. The grooms were yet to arrive - apparently their driver THE Rohan Kapoor had some work, and hence was late!
But Diya smirked and whistled as her bestie shimmied her hips and danced, blowing kisses to Diya. A big surprise awaited Rohan today indeed, and she grinned to herself in evil - ring or not, she was sure Rohan would have no choice but to propose to Priya today!! And then Diya could peacefully get married!
And just as the song ended, everyone whooped and clapped and cheered for Priya and Adi. Aarna was whistling, to which the guests chuckled.
But the music to the next song began just then, and everyone cheered again. The lights dimmed and Diya squealed and clapped, checking the entrance to the garden - waiting for her man.
"Arey ladki beautiful, kar gayi chull
Chull chull chull.."
Everyone whooped and clapped and the lights brightened again, but Priya and Adi were pointing to Aarna as they danced and sang along.
"Arey ladki beautiful, kar gayi chull
Chull chull chull.."
Priya and Adi groved, pointing to Aarna, who couldn't hold herself anymore. She sprinted onto the stage, dancing with her best friend and her brother.
Diya, who kept jiggling her legs to the song, also kept shooting glances towards the entrance - where the hell was Nikhil??? And, Rohan? How will her plan take into effect if Rohan arrives late?
"Hey beautiful!" Karthik's voice brought Diya to reality, and she tore her gaze away from the entrance, to gaze at the handsome man standing beside her.
