It's been a couple of days since the darkling kissed me. He left to send some people through the fold, but I think he's back now. I wanted to tell Genya, but I haven't seen her.

Someone knocks on my door, and I get up off my bed and open it. "Hello Amelia," the darkling said, "may I come in?" I nod.

"Can I help you?" I ask not knowing how to act around him. He walks around my room smiling.

"We are so close I can feel it, Amelia. The Grisha are getting stronger. All I need is you to teach a couple of Grisha for me. And we can begin our journey of getting rid of the fold! Isn't that great news?" He begins to come closer. I back away. I know I should feel lucky that the darkling likes me, but I can't be with him.

He keeps walking towards me until I bump into a wall. "It's awesome news." I said. But I sounded uneven and quiet when it came out.

"I'd say so," he whispered and then met my lips. He'd kissed me again. This time harder than the other day. I didn't know what to think. My mind was everywhere. Thinking about destroying the shadow fold, and can we actually do it? I was thinking about Nikolai. I was thinking about how no one knew where he was. I was thinking about how the darkling kissed me once again.

He held my hips still but his lips left mine.

He let go of my waist, i was a little disappointed when he said, "I got to go I forgot the king wanted to talk to me. Bye." He walks to the door and leaves. He needs to stop doing that.

I walk to my mirror fix my hair it takes me ten minutes to curl my hair and get dressed for the day. After I finish I walk to my door, I'm going to try to find Genya.

I open the door and my sister was standing there. "Amelia! Go back in now!" She pushes me back into my room she comes in with me and closes the door.
I found her!

"What!? What's going on?!" I yell.

"Shhh!" We hear feet walking away from my door.

"Ok, they're gone. Can you tell me what's going on?"

"Ok... I don't know if I heard right but like five minutes ago the king- he said something about a sun summoner."

"Huh?!" Genya nods furiously.

"I was kind of eavesdropping and they're are sending the darkling and some of the second army down to check. There was a group who went into the fold and the group got attacked by volcra, but a light appeared out of nowhere!" Genya squealed.

"If there really is a sun summoner we can get rid of the damn fold!" My eyes widen.

Genya notices that my face is still flushed. "Why are your cheeks pink?"

"No reason!" my voice cracked.

"Mhm... ok."

Ivan burst my door open, "Amelia we have to go, now. The darkling needs us immediately."

I nod knowing what it's about. That means I won't have to be pressured with trying to get rid of the fold with only other Grisha to help. We might have a real sun summoner.

I hug my sister goodbye she whispers, "don't think you got out of telling me who you had in here earlier," and I walk out with Ivan.

"Get on a horse we are heading to Kribirsk. We may have a sun summoner!" The darkling yells to the Grisha. "Let's go!"
