Kamrin and I head to the river and I see that everyone is already there. Their faces look almost distraught, and I look over to see a radio sitting in the sand.
I walk over and turn the radio off and take out the flyer of Stephanie. Ronnie walks over and grabs the flyer from me.
"Damn, they're really taking this seriously." He says. "Do you guys really believe this? That she's actually missing?"
"Well if we're being honest, she was unnecessary dramatic for no reason but, I don't think she would do something this drastic." Marcus replied. "Besides a lot of people hated her, someone must've snapped."
Kamrin starts to say something when Mason and Donna start walking towards us.
"Hey sorry we're late Donna over here said "She needed food" so we had to make a pit stop on the way over." Mason says as he sets down his things on the sand.
"That's a tad bit dramatic, I just wanted food. I wasn't starving to death Mason." Donna said as she sarcastically rolled her eyes.
Donnna and Mason.
Donna was your typical carefree teen who was pretty much there because she had nothing better to do or because of the food. Or both.
Now Mason on the other hand, was sort of like Marcus. Well, except he was like a foot shorter than Marcus. But other than that they had a lot in common. They're both baseball players, both have a sense of humor, both have brown hair, and both are fairly carefree.
I sit next to Ronnie and Kamrin and steal Donna's chips like I usually do and everything seems just like it was during the summer.
Happy.
But, then I remember something I can't believe I forgot.
"Has anyone talked to George at all?" I say with slight concern. "I don't think I saw him at school today either."
"I haven't talked to him since last summer." Kamrin replies.
"I saw him a week before Steph went missing. Why do you want to know?" Ronnie asks.
"I just wanted to make sure he's doing alright because he was one of the only people who genuinely cared about Steph." I reply still concerned. "Do you think we should go over to his house just to make sure he's okay?"
"Yeah, we can do that." Kamrin returns. "Right guys?"
They all agree.
Well except Donna because she said that she has homework that's more important and that she needs to finish it, even though it's the first day back at school.

After that, we enjoy our time together, whether we're chilling on our towels in the sand or chasing each other and splashing each other with the water.
As I try to get Ronnie back for getting me soaked in water, I glance over and see that Toby is walking over towards me.
"Wait, what is he doing here?" Ronnie asks as he starts to walk towards him.
"Riley told me that Lily and the rest of you guys were down here, so I decided to stop by." Toby replied. "Hey Lily, can we talk?" He asks completely ignoring the fact that Ronnie, Marcus, and Mason are all staring him down.
"Uh sure." I tell him and as we walk away from the group Kamrin notices us talking and walks over to see what was going on.
I knew exactly what was going to go down as soon as I saw the expression on her face. I quickly motion for her to turn around and walk back to the group.
"Hey, I know how things ended between us were kinda complicated but, after all this Stephanie stuff clears up can we talk about us more."
I can feel my heart beat faster in my chest. And instead of telling him how much I miss him and that I still care about him so much I push it all down and say with a slight smile.
"Yeah, that sounds good."
We both walk back to the group after that.
***
After we gather our things, Kamrin and I walk to her car and head over to George's house. We hop in her car and start driving over to George's while Ronnie, Marcus, and Mason follow behind.
We stop on the side of the road by George's house. Kamrin, Ronnie, and I get out of our cars and knock on George's door.
No answer.
I saw his parents weren't home because their cars were in the driveway but I assumed that George would be home. I knock on the door again.
Still no response.
Ronnie looks through the window and tries to see if he can see anyone and then he tries the door and with a simple twist the door opens.
We enter the house and look around to see if George or anyone is in the house but, we find nothing. All of us look at each other and the tension fills the room as we wonder.
Has George gone missing too? If so which one of us is next?
