George, Kamrin, and I get into Kamrin's car and head down to the police station and the car ride is filled with silence and suspense.
When the car pulls into the parking lot of the police station, we all get out of the car and we walk through the doors.
Marcus, Ronnie, Mason, Riley, Stacy, Donna, Toby, and even Jamal was there too.
We all gather in the waiting room as Detectives Andrews and Anderson figure out which one of us to question first. A fellow officer comes out of the questioning room and calls Riley to be questioned first. The waiting room is filled with utter silence as everyone patiently waits for the next person to go in to get questioned.
Riley comes out of the questioning room and Ronnie is called in next and after him George, then Marcus, then Mason, and then it was finally my turn.
I walk into the questioning room and sit down at the end of the table while Detective Andrews and Detective Anderson sit at the other end.
"So, Lily Bryans, we're going to ask you a few questions about what happened around the time of spring break last year. When exactly did you notice Stephanie Martin was seeming off?" Detective Andrews asks inquisitively.
"Well, I didn't really talk to her very much during the break but, when I did hang out with her she seemed anxious and almost paranoid. She called me and asked if I wanted to hangout a few days before spring break ended and she said she needed to tell me something but then she canceled at the last minute. And we didn't talk much after that either. She seemed very distant, at least towards Kamrin and I."
I respond.
"Out friend group went our separate ways towards the end of school."
"So, from what I'm hearing it seems like you and Stephanie didn't hang out during that time and you said you spent most of your time with Kamrin?"
"Yes, that's correct."
"Okay, then I suppose we should talk with Kamrin Calens then. You may leave and we may possibly talk with you again."
I leave the room and Kamrin is called in. I walk out of the station and I sit on the sidewalk anxiously waiting for Kamrin to be done. She comes out a few minutes later and we hop into her car and off immediately.
"Do you think someone from our friend group could have done it?" Kamrin asks curiosity.
"I'm not sure, but anyone can be capable of anything with the right motive so I guess we'll just have to wait for Steph's case to unfold." I replied back, curious myself who did it.
We drive back to my house with questions and flooding our thoughts. Kamrin pulls into my driveway and I go to open the door but door is already open even though I remember locking it.
Kamrin and I look at each other and we slowly open the door more. We look around to see if we can see anyone then, I walk into the house quietly with Kamrin following behind cautiously.
I tell her to search downstairs while I check upstairs and she agrees. We go our separate ways and I cautiously check all the rooms but I don't see anything. I go back downstairs and call out for Kamrin but I don't hear anything.
I try calling her to see if she'll answer but I still get no response. I search for her but I can't find her anywhere.
I stop for a moment because I hear a muffled sound coming from the closet. I go to reach for the door knob but then out of nowhere.
WHAM!
Everything goes black.
I can't tell what's happening or what happened.
I'm completely unconscious.
