I wake up to the sight of Kamrin frantically shaking me awake. I slowly open my eyes and feel that same throbbing pain in my head.
I look at Kamrin and then to the broken chair on the ground.
"What the hell?" I say confused. "How did you free yourself? And why is the chair broken?"
"I'll explain everything later but we need to go somewhere before someone else decides to do something crazy." Kamrin tells me. "We should go to Donna's. Nobody going to suspect that we're hiding there."
Kamrin picks the lock to my handcuffs with a bobby-pin that was in her hair and helps me out of the house.
"Stay here for one second. I'll be right back." Kamrin motions.
I sit on the steps of the front of my house. The pain, still throbbing in my head from being hit in the head.
Twice.
Kamrin comes back over with my baseball bat in one hand and dragging Riley by her hair in the other.
"I've been waiting to get my revenge on her and I finally got to!" Kamrin says triumphantly as Riley's body drags across the ground.
I give a wry smile as Kamrin let's go of Riley's hair.
"Wait! Did you kill her?!" I ask dramatically.
"Sadly no, I just knocked her out like she did to me and you, twice." Kamrin explains.
"Thanks for helping me out back out." I say solemnly.
Kamrin helps me to the car and then tosses Riley's lifeless body into the trunk. She gets into the car, pulls out of the driveway, and drives over to Donna's house.
Once we get to Donna's, my head starts to feel somewhat better and Kamrin drags Riley out of the trunk.
By her hair.
Into Donna's house.
Donna is surprised at first like anyone would be if two of your friends showed up to your house dragging a lifeless body along with them but she eventually got over it and was just wondering what we were doing at her house.
"Well, Riley broke into Lily's house, hit us both over the head with Lily's baseball bat as well as threatened us and then, had the audacity to accuse us of Steph's for murder." Kamrin explained. "So, I broke the chair to free myself and I unlocked my handcuffs with a bobby pin that I found, found Riley who looked like a mad women grabbed the bat and whacked her Almost as hard as I could. I mean, I didn't want to kill her."
"Huh, that escalated quickly." Donna returns. "Okay then, I guess that makes sense why your at my house then."
Riley starts to regain consciousness and Kamrin grabs the baseball bat but then Donna stops her. Kamrin sits down next to me while Donna drags Riley over to a chair and sits her up right.
"Can I hit her again? Riley is much more enjoyable unconscious." Kamrin asks.
"No, because as pleasant as she is silent and lifeless we need to get answers from her this time." Donna replies.
Riley fully wakes up and struggles to free herself from the handcuffs.
"LET ME GO." Riley demands. "You don't understand. I need you to let me go NOW!"
Kamrin scoffs as Donna walks towards Riley.
"We're not letting you go until you answer our questions." Donna says. Now, why did you attack Lily and Kamrin and break into Lily's house?"
"I-I had to, I was told to get something. I'm not sure what it was but they said that Lily had it." Riley said frantically. "Please just let me go! You don't understand he's gonna hurt Marcus..."
"Whose he Riley." Kamrin asks.
"Stephanie's murderer." Riley says with her eyes low. "I don't know who it is. All I know is what they told me and Stephanie's files that I may have also stolen from the Station."
"Where are the files???" Kamrin asks demandingly.
"There back at Lily's house." Riley begins to explain. "I took them with me to see if I could find what Steph's killer was talking about."
I sit in silence. What could Stephanie have left with me that would be a clue to who killed her? Then it hits me.
It's her phone.
"I know what she left." I say.
"What's is it? What did she leave?" Donna asks.
"The last time I hung out with her she must have left her phone at my house because every time she called me after that it was somebody else's phone." I tell them.
"Wait? But then how did they find out where she was then? They said on the news that her phone was how the police found her location." Kamrin questions.
"The news anchors said that they found a tracker that was from her phone there, not her actual phone. So she must have known that she was in some kind of danger or something and planted her phone at my house and the tracker in the woods where she was found. So, that means there was something that relates to her murder on her phone that she hid. But where?" I conclude.
As I start to think, Riley manages to unlock her handcuffs and immediately bolts for the door. Donna chases after her then, Kamrin and I hear a loud scream.
We both rush outside to see both Riley and Donna in horror. Both of them move out of the way so Kamrin and I can see what made them scream.
On the ground we see George's lifeless body with a note attached to it.
I carefully pick it up and read it aloud.
"I suggest you guys stop trying to solve Stephanie's case because if you do, someone else will suffer the same fate as George. I'll be watching you."
Then at the bottom of the note was signed "Night Watcher" in George's blood.
