Blue Spirit // An ATLA AU

Chapter 12

Zuko groaned as he slammed onto the ground, Sokka and Yue on top of him. His boyfriend rolled off of him, while Yue just laid on him. Sokka's sleeping bag that came with him, and he groaned, with the assassin looking directly at Sokka. He then looked at Yue and stated, "We are never sleeping on a tree stump ever again."

Then there was some pounding and rhinos jumped into the clearing Team Avatar was staying in. Three other rhinos with riders started circling around them. The assassin stood up, with Yue rolling off of him, all of the men were dressed in Fire Nation clothing, and Zuko recognized the group. They were the Rough Rhinos, a group of Fire Nation Mercenaries.

Appa stood up in the middle with the rest of the group, while the people of Team Avatar got into fighting stances. The lead Rough Rhino started speaking, "Give up. You're completely surrounded."
One of the men shot flaming arrows at Sokka, and Zuko tackled him, throwing daggers at the Archer in the process. They both flew past the Archer, as Yue threw ice daggers at him, cutting the string that was attached to the bow, along with the quiver that was around his torso.

They got back to their feet, and Sokka dragged Zuko over to the Flying Bison, with Yue running up behind them. All of them mounted the animal, while Katara came running over to them, before turning around looking at tbox of Waterbending scrolls on the stump she was sleeping on.

"My scrolls!" Katara yelled, as one of the Rough Rhinos stabbed his staff into the stump.

"My staff!"
"My swords!" Zuko growled, looking at his sheathed broadswords that were laying on the stump he was sleeping on earlier, with them laying next to his bag. He jumped off of Appa, at the same time as Aang. The assassin ran over to the stump dodging the man's mace, as he lunged forwards grabbing the swords. Zuko then pulled out a dagger, throwing it at the man's wrist. It hit it and the man yelled, as he dropped the mace. Zuko leaned down, grabbing his stuff, before turning around running over to Appa, mounting the animal.

Aang came back jumping onto Appa, he dropped his staff on Appa's head, before flicking the reins and said, "Yip, yip!"

Appa flew into the air, leaving the four Rough Rhinos at their campsite. One of them must've been a Firebender, since one of them threw fire towards them. It flew over Zuko, Katara, Yue, and Sokka's head, with all of them ducking down slightly. Sokka then darted across the saddle, looking back down at the campsite. "Wait, my boomerang!"
Yue set her hands on her soulmate's shoulder, saying, "There's no time."

"Oh, I see," Sokka said sarcastically. "So there's time to get your scrolls, Aang's staff, and Zuko's stuff. But there's no time to get my boomerang?"

"That's correct," Katara agreed with Yue, setting one of her hands on the shoulder where Yue's hand wasn't.

They had landed a little while later, near a village on the coast near Kyoshi Island. All of them were at a stall outside of the village, Katara was talking to the man inside of it, while Zuko, Aang, and Yue were standing around a sitting Sokka. He was grieving over losing his boomerang. His arms were resting on top of his knees, while Aang said, "Sorry about your boomerang, Sokka."

"I feel like I've lost part of my identity." Sokka stood up, picking up Aang's hat, revealing his arrow tattoo. He pointed at the tattoo. "Imagine if you lost your arrow..." He turned towards Zuko. "Or if you lost your cloak." He glanced at Yue. "Or you lose your white hair." He then turned to face Katara. "Or if Katara lost her... hair loopies." Sokka then walked over to his sister and Katara gave him a hug.

The man in the stall turned around setting a basket of produce on the table, and told Sokka, "Here's your produce, Ponytail Guy."

Sokka's face fell, and he picked up the basket of food miserably white saying, "I used to be Boomerang Guy." He moved forwards, with Zuko and Yue following close behind him. Sokka only got so far, before setting the basket of food on the ground, before draping himself over it. The two of them knelt down next to their boyfriend, patting his shoulders.
