They had made their way to the end of the path---with the wall right in front of them. That's when Aang and Momo made their appearance gliding down in front of Katara who was at the front of the group.
She looked at him, asking, "Aang what are you doing here? I thought you were looking for Appa?"
Aang closed his glider, and Momo flew down onto his shoulder. "I was," he admitted, the Airbender looked to the side. "But something stopped me---something big."
Everyone made it to the side of the wall, standing on a piece of stone. Toph and Aang used their earthbending to bring the stone up the wall, which seemed very unnecessary for it to be this tall. To Zuko it seemed like a prison that wasn't actually one. Sokka looked at the Airbender, asking, "Now, what's so big that Appa has to wait?"
Zuko looked over to the right, seeing a giant drill---and on it was the Fire Nation emblem. He looked at it, pointing at it saying, "Fire Nation."They got to the top of the wall, and Ying looked out at the Fire Nation, saying, "We made it to Ba Sing Se and we're still not safe. No one is."
"What are you people doing here?" A voice from behind them asked. The assassin turned to see Earthbender soldiers, the one that spoke then added, "Civilians aren't allowed on the wall."
Aang took a step forward, stating, "I'm the Avatar. Take me to whoever's in charge."***
All of Team Avatar was standing in front of General Sung who was apparently the Leader of this right now. Zuko was standing next to Sokka, with Toph next to him. While Yue was standing on the other side of Katara, Aang was standing in the middle with Momo sitting on his shoulder.
"It is an honor to welcome you to the Outer Wall, young Avatar. But your help is not needed," General Sung stated.
"Not needed?" Aang and Zuko asked the General.
"Not needed," the General repeated. "I have the situation under control." He stood up gesturing to a bunch of rocks, and a couple of Earthbenders behind it. "I assure you, the Fire Nation cannot penetrate this wall." They followed after the man, as he continued, "Many have tried to break through it, but none have succeeded. "
"What about the Dragon of the West?" Toph asked, crossing her arms. "He got in."General Sung froze for a moment, before replying, "Well, technically, yes. But he was quickly expunged." Zuko rolled his eyes, as he crossed his arm. The General cleared his throat, coming to stand in front of and face Team Avatar. "Nevertheless, that's why the city is named Ba Sing Se. It's an impenetrable city. They don't call it Na Sing Se!" He laughed, and everyone on Team Avatar became incredibly confused. The General must have noticed that because he explained, "That means penetrable city."
"Yeah, thanks for the tour," Toph said bluntly. Her head turned as General Sung walked past her. "But we still got the drill problem."
"Not for long!" General Sung exclaimed. He walked back out to the edge of the wall. "To stop it, I've sent an elite platoon of Earthbenders called the Terra Team."
"That's a good group name," Sokka complimented. "Very catchy."
Zuko took a step forward addressing the General, "General. With all do respect, if who I believe is in that drill. I highly doubt this elite platoon of yours will be enough to stop them. Princess Azula, Lady Ty Lee, and Lady Mai are all powerful in their own ways. Princess Azula with her exceptionally powerful Firebender. Lady Mai is a master with knives and daggers. While Lady Ty Lee is a master of martial arts and acrobatics. And that is only if they come out to fight, which is a strong possibility. The Fire Nation for the most part are careful, so there are most likely measures to protect it from Earthbending."
The General looked at him, asking, "And how do you know this about these women you claim are there?"
"Recently they have been pursuing us. And I believe they might be here to try and capture Avatar Aang, as well as take over Ba Sing Se. Knowing Princess Azula's ambition, I wouldn't be surprised," Zuko told him calmly, looking at the General. He heard crashing, and looked out to the ground below them. A Fire Nation tank was launched off the ground, and multiple groups of Earthbenders moved on the side. After a couple of moments they brought up earth spires, which stopped the drill for a couple of moments.
