"What are you doing?" She asked calmly but I can see the fear and panic in her eyes. I locked the door behind me and took a step closer to her. She was forced to take another step back. I suddenly felt nervous. I'm trying to act cool and nonchalant about what happened earlier but deep inside, I wanted to bury myself alive because of embarrassment. How am I supposed to act cool in front of her again when I'm sure that she saw everything. How am I supposed to handle being left alone with her again when my heart crazily beats when she's around me just like at this very moment.

"JK!" She shouted firmly as I move another inch closer to her. I can now smell the familiar scent of her perfume. Damn!

"Don't move!" She hissed.

"What do you want?" She asked but it doesn't sound like a question to me but a warning.

"Will you give it to me?" I asked teasingly. She raised her brow in disbelief and I couldn't help but burst into laughter. Her expression was so funny.

"I'm leaving!" She said angrily as she push me aside but I was able to grab her hand. "Let's talk." I said calmly.

"We have nothing to talk about. Let's pretend we've never met before." She said coldly. Her eyes became so distant and empty. No emotions, nothing. It feels like she suddenly became a totally different person.

I let go of her hand. Even though her words pierced through my chest for some reason, I managed to respond.

"It's settled then. You're right, we've never met each other before." I answered reciprocating the coldness in her voice. She maintained her straight face.

So she wanted to play pretend? Okay then I'll give it to her.

"Good." She said as she walked past me, she unlocked the door, and went out of my room.

Even though my heart suddenly felt heavy after our conversation, I let out a sigh of relief when she was finally gone. Damn! It took me a hell lot of self control to be able to do nothing to her while I'm alone with her.

I heard knocks on my door as soon as I finished changing my clothes.

"Sir JK, dinner is ready." I heard Mrs. Choi say.

"Okay, I'll be down in a minute." I answered.

I dry my hair with the blower I found on my bathroom and went downstairs after. Everyone, including her were already on the dining table when I got there. I need to show her that she's not the only one who can ignore and forget what happened between us.

"When did you arrive son?" Dad asked as he gestured me to sit beside Ji Eun. Dad is sitting beside Ji Eun's mom on the right side of the table while Ji Eun is sitting right in front of her mom on the left side of the table. Although I have mixed emotions right now, I've managed to take the sit beside her.

"I just arrived this morning." I managed to say calmly without looking at him straight into the eye. I felt embarrassed for what I did during our first dinner with Ms. Lee that I can't even lift my head to look at them. I couldn't keep my cool back then and failed to be civilized. My emotions have gotten the best of me. I acted so barbaric that I felt so ashamed of myself especially when I'm reminded of the words I said to Ji Eun's mom before.

"Your Grandma will be arriving tomorrow, I just hope you could pick her up in the airport." Dad said before taking a sip from his coffee.

"Okay." I said quietly. I'm surprised that I didn't complain or tell him that he has a lot of people he can order around to do things on his behalf.

"By the way JK, this is Ji Eun, she's gonna be your stepsister. I hope you could get along well." Dad said as he put some salad on his plate.

"Hi, nice to meet you brother." She said with a fake smile pasted on her lips and a hint of sarcasm in her words as she extends her hand for a handshake. My mood instantly changed. I grit my teeth lightly. She's really playing this game. Well, let's see how long will she be able to keep this up. The ball is in my court now. Might as well play it nicely.
