*Krista’s Point of View*
I laughed and clapped my hands together, “You’re getting so much better!”
Neville grinned, twirling his wand in his hand, “You really think so?”
I walked over to the wall, picking my wand up from the cold stone floor, “Definitely.”
I looked around the large room that has been decorated for Christmas. Wreaths, mistletoe, red bows, and even a small Christmas tree brightened up the room. All these students practicing spells on each other like any other day. Neville has been getting better, no longer giving Justin the ability to laugh at him, trying to convince me to do better. Seamus is still harassing Kenzie, causing her to take advantage of his desire to be her partner by practicing her curses on him when they duel. They have been getting along a bit better, but he still annoys her. He’s been doing nothing but trying to find ways to keep her separated from Malfoy and it’s driving her insane. Since Kenzie knows she can’t tell Malfoy about the practices, she isn’t sure what to do about his obsessive behavior.
  “Expelliarmus!”
I jumped in surprise as my wand flew from my hand once again. Neville grinning victoriously.
“You need to stop disarming me when I’m not paying attention,” I joked, making him smile.
“Then it wouldn’t be so easy,” Neville smirked.
  I giggled, “Exactly.”
Another D.A. practice again. Neville has been getting a lot better at holding his wand correctly to perform certain spells. He’s still a bit behind, especially since Harry is having us practice the levitation spell today. Many students around the room were either lifting or being lifted with the spell, making it entertaining to watch.
“Okay, everyone. Gather around!” Harry called out.
Everybody immediately stopped what they were doing, congregating around Harry.
He clapped his hands together, “Okay, guys. Very good job so far. Unfortunately, this is the last time will be meeting until after Christmas break.”
The disappointed groans of the others bounced around the room. I’m upset too. This is a really great place to be and it sucks we have to wait until after Christmas.
Harry continued, “I know, I know, but we will resume immediately after break. Other than that, I have nothing to say other than very impressive you guys. Really good job. I wish you all a Happy Christmas.”
The room broke into applause and everyone started shuffling out of the room of requirement to head down to dinner. I can’t believe this. The fact it is Christmas break means the year is half over.
Neville came up to me and grabbed my hand, “Hey, you want to go have a little us time before dinner?”
“What did you have in mind?”
He shrugged, “I was thinking maybe a walk down by Black Lake.”
I smiled at him, “Sure. Let’s go.”
We left the room of requirement hand in hand, making stops to put on warmer clothing and exiting through the main entrance. The sun had just set; leaving light streaks of gold on the horizon.
I sighed, enjoying the fresh air. The freshly fallen snow crunching under my boots, “You know, I’m going to miss you during Christmas.”
Neville wrapped his arm around me, “We’ll still see each other. We’re neighbors, remember?”
“Yeah, but we’re not going to be home. Supposedly Kenzie and I are going with Harry and several others.”
“Wish I could go with you,” he frowned.
I giggled, kissing his cheek, “Me too, but you should go with your grandmother. We can always write to each other.”
The realization made him smile, “I forgot about that. It’s not exactly the same though.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll be sure to write in such a way, you’ll think I’m actually there.”
  Neville grinned, “I’d appreciate that.”
We gazed out to the iced-over water. The last bit of sunlight fading away into darkness, making my warm breath even more visible to the naked eye.
Neville held me tighter, “If this is the case, maybe we should have another evening for ourselves before we head out tomorrow.”
I smirked, raising an eyebrow at him, “With or without fun time?”
“Up to you this time,” He grinned.
I thought for a moment and looked into his eyes, “Well, let’s go eat some supper first. We’ll discuss this more afterwards.”
That seemed to sit well with Neville. He kept my hand firmly grasped in his own, leading me back up to the castle. Here we go again.
*Kenzie’s Point of View*
I left the room of requirement as soon as Harry dismissed us. Draco had been held up by his extra credit squad patrol these past couple of days and I want to see him. Even when in an obvious hurry, Seamus proceeded to follow me as usual.
“Kenzie, what’s the rush?” He asked as he caught up with me.
“I’m looking for Draco,” I said without looking at him, “You should know this by now.”
Seamus tried to hide a scowl, “Him again? You know, you never explained to me what you see in him.”
“Why should I explain? Fact is I really like him.”
Seamus became eager, “Yes, but why?”
I sighed, quickening my pace, “Because he’s sweet and chivalrous to me. He has done nothing but treat me like a queen since the day we started going out.”
“What about before that? The anger and hatred?”
I clicked my tongue, “All fake. We both tried to hide our feelings for each other before and after he asked me out. It was just a better option at the time.”
Seamus kept digging up facts he must believe will make me annoyed or angry with Draco. I’m not dumb. I know this is all for advantage.
“How do you feel about him working against us?”
I kept walking, keeping my voice even, “Sorry. Anyone who works with the pink toad must be miserable. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to find my boyfriend.”
As much as I know that using the term “boyfriend” in front of Seamus really hurts him, I can’t help but say it to get him to leave me alone. It freezes him briefly every time I say it, giving me the opportunity to slip away.
I turned the next corner, leaving Seamus lost in his thoughts to what I had said. Beginning to head over to the most common place I find Draco on his rounds anymore. Sure enough, he’s here. Crabbe, Goyle and Blaise with him as well.
He noticed me straight away, “Hello, love.”
They all turned to look at me. I approached them, smiling, “Hey, you.”
Draco pushed past the others to get to me, leaning down for a kiss, “I was wondering when you would show up.”
“You mean same time, practically same place?”
He gave a playful shrug, “If you say so, then yes.”
I glanced at Crabbe, Goyle and Blaise. All three of them looked a bit disgusted and I know it’s because Draco and I are being all mushy to each other. They always do it when we’re together. Even if they act this way now, they sure aren’t shy to throw a quick compliment or try to be flirty when Draco isn’t around or paying attention.
I tugged at Draco’s tie, guiding him a bit further away from the others, “So, about Christmas break...”
He smiled, “Don’t worry, love. I’m sure we can arrange something.”
I gave him a worried look, “Are you sure?”
He rested his hands on my waist, “Of course. Anything for you. I’m sure we can find a way to stay in touch without alarming our parents.”
  I sighed, “I hope you’re right.”
Draco kissed me lightly, wrapping me in a warm embrace. I kissed him back a bit harder. Mainly to the uncertainty of what’s going to happen these next two weeks.
“Get a room!” Blaise called to us.
Draco smirked under the kiss before pulling back and turning to Blaise, “I think we’ll take you up on that idea.”
Blaise wrinkled his nose in a grimace, making me laugh.
“Draco, don’t scar the poor guys,” I giggled before lowering to a whisper, “What happens in the bedroom, stays in the bedroom.”
He laughed, “Well, other than that one time, there isn’t a whole lot of bedroom stories to scar them with... Unless...?”
I lifted an eyebrow at him, then smirking as I teased him. Tracing a finger down his chest to the area just below his belt, “Not yet. It will happen when it happens.”
Draco tensed up, forcing back his anatomical excitement. Luckily, the others couldn’t see what I was doing. It alone would scar them for life.
He growled lowly in my ear, “Normally, I’d agree with you, but you are so not playing fair right now.”
I laughed, bringing my hand back up to his shoulders, “That’s what a girlfriend does.” I pulled him close to me, giving him another small kiss, “Goodnight. Make sure I see you tomorrow.”
  He smiled, “Oh, you will.”
I walked away with a somewhat sad but contented smile. Draco and I will figure this out. I just know it.
