When Lissa woke up — or rather, when the sun woke her up — the next morning, Jace was still snoring beside her. Memories of the previous night, raced through her mind, causing her to break out in a face-splitting smile.
The past night will forever be ingrained into Lissa's mind.
She never thought she'd do something like that. It was so unlike her. It felt wrong, but so right as well.
Technically, Jace was still her ex.
She slowly uprighted herself and glanced at Jace. His was face down to the left of her, with only his bottom half and one leg covered with the bedsheet.
Do people even do such things when they're exes?
Some people do stay friends with their exes, some maybe even best friends, but that's where it stops.
There's a boundary line to everything, and she thinks she might've crossed it.
Lissa grabbed his t-shirt from the ground, slipped out over her naked body, and walked to the bathroom to take a shower.
During her shower, just before the shower-wall began to dig up,, she noticed her body in the mirror. She saw her entire upper body covered in red blotches.
A hickey...
A hickey on her collarbone, a hickey on her shoulder. A hickey, everywhere. She tried scrubbing it off, but soon realized it was futile to even try, so she left it on her body.
When she moved closer to the mirror, with the towel wrapped around her body, she inspected the love-bites again. Maybe she'd have to cover it up with make-up. Or extra clothing. It is rather cold today, so maybe she'd use the latter.
When she stepped out of the bathroom, Jace was still asleep, but not snoring anymore.
She clutched his t-shirt in her hands, and stalked over to the dresser — where she kept extra clothes, in case she was ever late for school and had no time to look through her closet for an outfit. Lissa put the t-shirt on top of the dresser and rummaged through it to find something to wear, albeit trying to prevent the towel from slipping off.
When Lissa heard a low whistle behind her, she semi-circled her body, shocked to see Jace wide awake, smirking, with one arm tucked under his head.
“Jace, you're awake!?” she exclaimed, gripping the towel tighter around her body.
He responded by motioning for her to come forward, and her legs voluntarily agreed. When she reached the side of the bed, he grabbed her arm and yanked her down.
“Jace,” she gasped when he snaked his free hand around her waist.
“What?” he asked, innocently, batting his eyelashes and pouting his lips.
“Come now, let go of me!” she protested.
Jace sucked in a sharp breath through his teeth,
“I'd stop squirming if I were you.”
Lissa stopped moving around and locked eyes with him. She gasped when she realized what he meant, and slapped his chest and tried pushing herself off of him.
Jace held her tighter, used his hand that was supporting his head and grabbed her wrist to stop her from pushing, then raised his head at an obtuse angle, and kissed her. Slowly at first, then he increased his pace.
He slowly unwrapped the cotton material, but Lissa's free hand grabbed his and stopped him from continuing. He let go of her soft lips and looked at her, dumbfounded. Jace loved last night so much he wanted a round two. Lissa didn't want anything further, because whatever that was, already confused her so much. She needed to be sure about their relationship status if he wanted to do it again.
