Nesrin fired a huge ball of energy at Nathaniel, who jumped out of the way, barely missing it. He wiped the sweat off his brow as he spun his hands around him quickly, forming a larger ball of energy, then launching it towards Nesrin. She easily stepped out of the way, the ball not even close to hitting her. She looked at Nathaniel and smirked. "Done already? That was barely a fight." Nathaniel growled. "Stop reading my mind!" He fired energy ball after energy ball at her, and she jumped to the side, barely dodging them. "That's right! Get angry. It works."
She grinned as a huge energy ball hurtled towards her. She tried to step out of the way but Nathaniel made the ball change course, and it slammed into Nesrin, who got launched backwards by the force. She landed in a warrior pose about 50 feet away.
"Nicely done, Nate!" Hunter grinned from the stands nearby. Nathaniel smirked at him and then looked back over to where Nesrin was picking herself up off the ground.
"Yes. Very well done. You're improving a lot, very quickly. It's nice to see." Nesrin smiled sweetly, walking back to her starting point. She shook Nathaniel's hand and grinned. "You're ready for the next part of training."
She grabbed his hand and led him to a tent set to the side of the psychic area of the battlegrounds.
She sat across from him on a small pillow on the floor and grabbed both of his hands. "The first step of mind reading is connecting with your inner power. You need to feel it. Visualize it."
Nathaniel closed his eyes and searched around on the inside of his mind, feeling for his power. His fingers tingled as he finally located it. "Got it."
"Now you need to push it outward towards your subject. Whoever's mind you want to read. So try and visualize it pushing towards me and enveloping me in it."
Nathaniel sighed and opened his eyes, watching the air around him move slowly, and turn lightly pink. His energy pushed forward slightly, finally reaching Nesrin. He closed his eyes and willed it to go a little further. It finally wrapped around her, and when he opened his eyes again, he could see inside of Nesrin's mind. He could see what she saw, feel what she felt, and even see her thoughts in front of him as if they were credits on a movie screen. He grinned. "You have a thing for Shidge? I never would have guessed that."
Nesrin gasped and let go of his hands, severing their connection. "How did you see that? You should have only been able to see my current thoughts. Not anything from before right this second." She blushed.
"I don't know! I just did what you said. I could see everything."
Nesrin's eyes widened. "Your powers are a lot stronger than I thought. You're ready."
She pulled Nathaniel out of the tent and back into the battlegrounds where the rest of the teens stood. "Nathaniel is the first of you to have completely mastered his powers." She said, addressing the group of teens.
Nathaniel grinned at them as everyone cheered for him.
Hunter jumped up onto the podium and grabbed his boyfriend, kissing him passionately. "I'm so proud of you." Nathaniel smiled and hugged his boyfriend tightly.
Nesrin cleared her throat and the boys turned towards her sheepishly.
"With that being said, Nathaniel will be the first to lead the training classes. He will be teaching psychic powers to any kids who would like to join our first class, which starts next Monday. If I had to guess, there will probably be 10 to 12 kids needing to learn."
She made a notepad appear in front of her and scribbled down something, then handed it to Nate.
"This is the training schedule. Make sure you're here at 8 am sharp on Monday."
Nathaniel nodded and stuck the paper in his pocket.
"Alright. Training is adjourned for the day. Everyone go get some sleep, and I'll see you on Monday."
