Sam dragged his feet along the pavement as he walked home in the rain. School was uneventful, there were no adventures with his friends to look forward to and ..

A drop of water hit him in the forehead.

Great. It's raining. Exactly what I need right now.

He pulled his backpack up higher on his shoulders, and walked a little faster.

The rain pelted his jacket as he opened the door to his small apartment in downtown Driudal. It was a shabby little place, and was kind of run down. But it was home. For now, anyways.

Sam had been planning to move out of his apartment for months now, and move closer to the school, but rent prices were too high for a high school junior to try and pay. It was a shame too, because he loved living in the city. It gave him a sense of pride for some odd reason.

As he shook the rain pellets out of his hair, he noticed he had a missed call from his old best friend back in England.

He quickly dialed the number back as he put his key in the door and twisted the handle, stepping into his small home.

"Sam! Hey!"

Sam smiled. "Hey Rory."

Aurora Wrinn had been Samuel's best friend for as long as he could remember. Their parents were best friends, and they grew up together. They took their first steps together, spoke their first words together, and both got their license's on the same day.

When Sam had told Rory that he was moving to Driudal, it broke her heart. And he had felt awful about it ever since. But they were still just as close, even though they were one hundred thousand miles apart.

"I have AMAZING news. I don't think you're ready. Are you ready? Oh god you're so not ready."

Sam chuckled at Rory's enthusiasm.

"I'm ready. What's up?"

"I'M MOVING TO DRUIDAL!"

Sam dropped his bookbag and grinned. "Really?!"

Rory's bright laugh filled his ears. "Yes! My mom bought me a one way ticket and I leave tomorrow!"

Sam leaned his back against the door smiling. "That's amazing. God I can't wait to see you."

"Me neither. I'm coming straight to your house when I get there."

"Good. You can just live with me."

Rory chuckled. "For a little while. Until I get my own place anyways."

"Well I'll leave you to packing. But I'll see you tomorrow."

Sam could hear the smile in Rory's voice. "Sounds good. Bye Sammy."

"Bye Rory."

He hung up the phone and grinned brightly. He was so excited to have his best friend back. Someone else who knew the culture of England. Someone he could talk to about home without feeling like an outsider. Even though Randall had become a very close friend to him in Driudal, He has missed Rory so much that it left a hole inside of him.

But he knew that having her back was going to be an amazing thing.
