Successfully sneaking his way back into town without being spotted by anyone, not even the guards. Shoto hopped back into his open window, finding his body still safe and sound, sleeping nice and cozy beneath the covers as if nothing strange was happening at the moment. Now that he was back inside the town walls, within the safety of his own home and room, that's when it finally dawned on him. He forgot to ask Izuku! How can he forget?! He was having too much fun running around the woods as a wolf, he forgot to ask him how to return to his human body!
"How do I do this?"
Things were about to turn from bad to worse when his heightened hearing sensed the door from down below being swung open. Turning his head to see, even through the second floor, Shoto could see the image of his father's fiery red scent entering the house with crossbow in hand. He must've gone out looking for him, the wolf him so to speak.
But nevermind that, he was still a wolf. He has seen his father's reaction the moment he found a wolf hovering over his son's sleeping body, and he sure does not want a repeat of what happened earlier.
"Um...Uh...Come on, come on!" Shoto quietly panicked to himself as he quickly searched for the way how he could return back to his human body, occasionally glancing down to check his father's approaching figure.
Suddenly, the moment his wolf paw landed on his human hand, it magically glowed a bright gold. Shoto had no time to contemplate whether this really was the way to return to his body or not. He was desperate, and he could hear his father's heavy incoming footsteps walking up the stairs.
"Come on, come on!" Shoto quietly exclaimed as he continuously tapped his human hand with his paw, thinking that it could hopefully quicken the transformation process.
Right when the hunter's head was about to peek out from beneath the second floor, Shoto's wolf body has already turned into a transparent golden spirit and had merged with his real human body. Shooting up from his bed with a sharp gasp, the golden patterns that hovered above Shoto's face instantly vanished, just like that.
"Shoto, are you awake?" His father asked as he squeezed his way out of the narrow stairs, not caring at all about the low ceiling.
Surprisingly, all he seemed to be focused on was being by his boy's side.
"What, Father?!"
"There was a wolf here in your chambers, got in while you were sleeping. It could have taken you!"
"Father, I was-"
Shoto was interrupted the moment he suddenly felt them, a pair of large arms wrapped tightly around his small body. The boy was left frozen in shock. Not only because his old man was literally hugging him right now, but because he could feel the anxiety and worry radiating out of him.
"This world is such a dangerous place for you, Son. I promised I would keep you safe!"
Even his deep voice emitted this worried tone, something he still couldn't belive he could do. Shoto was honestly surprised that he was tempted to raise his arms and hug his old man back. But in the same time, the boy was trying his hardest not to either push the man away or quiver in fear.
Remember, just moments ago, this man nearly killed him. Sure, Shoto was still a bit shaken that his father tried to shoot him earlier. But still, if he looked through this man's own eyes, he was only trying to protect his son from a wolf that had managed to sneak it's way inside their home.
And he must not forget, the hunter was completely unaware that the wolf he was trying to kill was in fact his own flesh and blood. So Shoto couldn't really blame the man for his terrifying actions. But still, he can't bring himself to forgive his father that easily.
