So Mi Young walked around the beach enjoying the morning sun. She felt a sense of peace being in such a calm and magical setting. The island felt like a little slice of heaven away from the chaos that awaited her in the real world.
Her mind wandered to the last time she had been on a beach. Back when she had been close to finishing college. She had taken a trip with her best friends. Remembering it now seemed to bring only pain and suffering.
A tear unconsciously trailed down her face as her best friends' laughter rang in her ears. Them taking each of her hands and taking her deep into the water, all the while laughing at her terrified shrieks cos they knew she couldn't swim. Her begging them to not do it but they only laughed hard and held her tighter.
She had thought running back to Korea would bring an end to the spell of bad luck and memories that had been following her for the past year but she was proved wrong when the incident at her own house happened.
It seemed as if she had no escape no matter what she did. Neither from the bad things happening, nor from the memories constantly plaguing her mind.
"So MiYoung!" A voice shouting her name caught her attention and she quickly wiped her face with the sleeves of her dress as she turned towards the source.
A figure ran towards her and as they got closer, she recognized it to be WooBin.He let out a huff of breath as he finally reached in front of her.
"Where have you been? Why haven't you been picking up? We've been trying to reach you for an hour!" He yelled, breathing heavily because of the running he had been doing in search of her. So Mi Young looked at him startled, "What? Why? I texted you guys that I was gonna go on a walk. I left my phone in the room because I forgot to charge it last night."
"You didn't! We didn't receive any text from you! Do you know how worried I was?! I thought something happened! How could you be careless?!" He scolded her looking absolutely furious.
This was the first time Mi Young had seen Woo Bin look so angry and she was lost as to what she should do. She did send a text before leaving.
Woo Bin's phone rang and he quickly answered as soon as he got a glance at the caller ID. "Yeah, I found her. On the beach. Yeah, we're coming there."
"Let's go," he muttered slightly walking ahead.
Miyoung looked at his retreating back feeling guilty for making him and everyone worry. Almost instinctively she reached out and grasped his wrist, making him freeze in his steps.
"I'm sorry." Her voice came out soft, merely above a whisper but he heard it loud and clear. "I didn't mean to make anyone worry. I really sent a text before coming." The guilt in her voice was clear and she sounded so sad that WooBin couldn't bear to hear it. His heart clenched in his chest. He had been too harsh yelling at her.
He turned to face her only to be stunned again. Something about this girl always made him crazy. He couldn't stand to see the expression of guilt on her face, "It's okay little one. I shouldn't have yelled at you. I apologize. I'll try to control myself better. Now let's leave it and get some breakfast. We have a long day ahead of us."
~*~*~*~*~
Breakfast was a quick affair once everyone had gotten over the initial scare caused by Miyoung's 'disappearance' and then they were off to explore the island.
Their tour guide dropped them at a bicycle stand where they could take a bike and ride through the sightseeing trails that were laid out. They got on the bicycles and started peddling away following the trails laid out. The experience was once in a lifetime thing and the group thoroughly enjoyed it. The trail led them to explore the best views around the island. They would sometimes stop for pictures, bask in the natural scenery, or even explore little shops and restaurants that were placed around the trail.
Before they knew it, it was dark, and they had covered the whole trail, which brought them back to the bike stand. The driver was waiting to take them back to back to the hotel and the exhausted yet excited group pilled back into the car.
They were sweaty and tired but the experience was worth it. As soon as they reached the resort, they went to their respective rooms to shower and get dressed for bed. None of them had the energy to go down for dinner so they decided to order dinner to their respective rooms.
So Miyoung was drying her hair when a knock sounded on her room's door. She wondered who it could be as she went towards the door and to her surprise, Song Woobin stood there with a large pizza box in one hand and a big plastic bag in the other.
"I couldn't let the pretty lady have dinner all by herself so I decided to fix the situation." He shot her a charming smile as he raised his hands, showing her the stuff he had brought.
Mi Young couldn't help grinning at his antics, "How very thoughtful of you kind sir! Please do come in."
He chuckled at her before following her inside.
"How about a movie night since I did bring a ton of snacks and drinks?" He asked taking a seat on one of the chairs in the room.
"Yes!" Miyoung agreed more than excited to have a movie night with someone after so long.
They set everything up and got comfortable on the bed. Neither wanting to sit on the couch for so long.
Time went away quickly as they finished two movies talking and laughing in between. Less than halfway through the third one, Woobin made a comment at a scene but got no response. He turned to his companion and found her leaning against the headrest with her eyes closed. He smiled at the sight and decided it was time for him to leave.
As quietly as possible he removed everything from the bed and cleaned up the mess they had made in the room. Once he was satisfied with everything, he went towards the sleeping girl and lifted her up slightly before placing her down again so she was properly laid on the bed. He covered her with the blanket and gave the room one last look before heading out.
"Good night little one," he whispered as he stepped out and closed the door, stopping for another second to ensure that it locked behind him.
The night had been perfect and the smile on Woobin's face didn't falter till he too fell in a dreamless sleep.
