After everything was secured and cleared at the scene, Colton drove Amelia back to the cabin to get her belongings before driving her back to her apartment duplex. The ride was comfortable, Amelia ended up falling asleep for a little while with Coltons' hand on her upper thigh as he drove.

He would occasionally glance over at her every time she moved or made a noise in her sleep, only because he wanted to make sure she was okay. Hell, she had been kidnapped and beaten by a serial killer for hours, he'd be crazy to not worry about her.

She woke up when they were about 15 minutes away from her house, a small smile on her face when feeling Coltons' hand on her thigh. She put her palm on top of his and intertwined their fingers without a word, eyes watching the passing scenery from the window.

Colton smiled as well when she interlocked their fingers, squeezing her hand reassuringly.

They continued to drive to her apartment in silence until Colton pulled into the driveway, then Amelia let out a sigh of relief.

"Thank fuck." Amelia said as she opened the car door and stepped out, pulling her hand away from Coltons'. She grabbed her bag from the backseat and immediately began walking to her front door, eager to be back in her own home.

Colton chuckled at her as he followed her to the door once shutting the car off, locking it behind him. Amelia unlocked her front door, stepping inside and throwing her bag on the ground and making a b-line straight to the couch.

Flopping down on her back with a noise of delight, she stretched out her limbs taking up the entirety of it.

She closed her eyes as she felt her tired and sore body relax against the cushions, a content smile on her face. Colton watched her from the entranceway of the living room, arms crossed over his chest with a fond smile on his face. Amelia could feel Colton watching her yet he made no move to approach her. She opened her eyes and looked at him questionably, asking him what was wrong.

Colton cleared his throat nervously, moving his gaze to the floor in front of him, "You said that in agreement for you to help me, that once we caught Wilkins and the case was closed that you never wanted to see me again," Amelia looked at him with wide eyes. She had forgotten about those terms with everything that had happened the last couple of days, he couldn't really think she still meant that.

"Even after that we did in the last couple of days," Colton continued, scratching his nape nervously, "I'm still willing to abide by those terms, if that's what you still want. Just say it, and you won't have to see me again. That is, until work. Which I didn't think about before, shit. Um-" he began to ramble, eyes widening when he realized that he had already been approved to transfer to her field office. That didn't exactly coincide with her terms from the beginning. But when he told her, she wasn't angry or mad, she seemed happy but he didn't want to assume anything.

Amelia watched him with an amused expression as he continued to ramble to himself before she cut him off, "Colton." His eyes snapped back up to her face, "Yea?" He asked, a deer in headlights look on his face.

Amelia didn't say anything as she motioned for him to come to her with a finger, an eyebrow quirked up with a small smirk. Colton blushed lightly when he realized he had been rambling, feet beginning to move towards the couch where Amelia was still laying down.

Once he was within arms reach, Amelia reached out to grab his hand and pull him down over her. He situated himself between her legs hesitantly, leaning down so his arms were on either side of her head. He tried to avoid putting a lot of his weight on her with her bruised ribs, so he was very hesitant to lay with her.

Amelia, however, wrapped her arms around his shoulders, connecting her hands on his nape, "You don't actually think I could still want that do you? Not after what's happened." Colton shrugged his shoulders, avoiding her eyes, "I didn't want to assume otherwise. You were pretty adamant about it." Amelia had a small fond smile on her face as her heart swelled, even after everything, he still cared about what she wanted. Even if it to never see him again.
