"If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day. So I don't have to live without you."

On the 12 hour of the first of October 1989, 43 women around the world gave birth. This was  unusual only in the fact, that none of these women had been pregnant when the day begun.

Reginald, an eccentric billionaire, adopted 8 of these children.

Mission

"I heard a rumor that you shot your friend in the foot" Allison told the head guy. "Nice one Al!" I high fived Allison as the man obeyed and shot his friends foot. I ran to check on Luther but started getting chased by men with guns. "Shit" I muttered before manipulating the ground to trap a few people and ran.

Luther fell through the ceiling and threw a man outside. "Jesus!" "Guns are for sissies! Real men throw knives!" Diego said running in. His knives manipulated their way before stabbing a man to death. "Get away from me!" The head guy yelled at my sibling. "Be careful up there!" "Wouldn't want you to get hurt" they teased. "GET AWAY!" He held a gun out. "Or what?" I said on the counter with him. As he turned to me I was teleported away. He shot at the air and turned to see five. He tried shooting five but realized he had a stapler instead of his gun. Thanks to my doing, naturally. "That's one badass stapler!" Five said before smashing it into the guys head.

I ran next to him and we fist bumped as we watched the guys fall. "Look it's five and eight again being a cute couple. *fake kisses*" Klaus said letting the hostages out. "Shut up! Cmon Ben you got this!" I said nudging Ben. "There are more people on the vault!" Luther told him. "I didn't sign up for this...." Ben sighed and walked in. We saw blood splatter and shadow of tentacles. Ben walked out with blood soaking and dripping all over his uniform. "Can we go home now?" "Yes. Good job, Bennie." I smiled as we took the hostages to the exit.

We walked in numerical order as we lined up. Just like we practiced. I couldn't help but have a huge smile on my face. Our first mission and i was a bank robbery. All things considered, we did an amazing job. Reginald walked up to us and the news reporters were goin ballistic. "Mr. Hargreeves! Channel 9 news what happened to their parents?" I wasn't paying attention. I was looking at five. I had to admit I did have a crush on him. Then I heard father say "to the car children!" We all walked like robots into the car.

"I saw you go Gaga eyes at five!" Klaus whispered in my ear. "Shut the hell up!" I hissed before hitting his hand. We then drove home.

A year later:

As father instructed, we walked silently and with pride into our abode. Numerical order. Reginald says it's professional to keep things in uniform. I was at the end of the line, holding my title as 'Number Eight', before I felt someone grab my wrist. "Excuse me I'm your biggest fan!" I turned to see a boy my age. He was wearing a domino mask like ours but it was cardboard. Looked like it was cut out from a cereal box of some sort.

He also had a uniform but it was cheap material and had Velcro keeping it together. Probably from some costume set. "Oh I-" I tried to speak but five came. "You're not supposed to be here!" He told the boy sternly and snatched my hand. He was now holding it. I probably looked like a fool for bushing but I couldn't help it.

"Hey get behind the barricade!" Dad yelled. "It's just.. I was born on the same day as the academy kids! I think I'm like them. I must be! I haven't quite figured out my power yet...but I'm hoping with your help we can find out!" The boy told dad with a smile. "You have no power. You will never have powers now go home." Dad was pretty harsh. I felt bad and five must've noticed because he squeezed my hand , causing me to look at him instead of the boy. he mouthed a 'leave it be' and I nodded.

We were staring at each other and I zoned out. I heard the crowd laughing and saw my siblings walking away. I joined them but stopped in my tracks. I ran up to the boy. "I apologize profusely. He's rude but he's my father. Here take this as a form of sincerity." I said before giving him my necklace that had an umbrella on it. I ran back before I got in trouble.

Walking up to Vanya with a smile so I wouldn't cause attention, I chuckled. "Hey V!" "Hey Y/n!" She placed her violin down and turned to me with a smile. Vanya and I were close. "Wanna hear me play or are you gonna hang with the rest......" She said with a sort of passive sadness. They didn't like her for some reason. "Nah they're losers. I wanna hear you play!" I saw her face lift with a smile. She started playing and I loved it.

⌛️

It was late and I was reading. Usually I'd be in Ben's room but he was in a sort of mood after having to do what he did on the mission. He never got used to having to slaughter with his tentacles. Not that he ever should. "Bedtime." Grace knocked. "Ok." I put my book down and walked to the mirror. I was still in uniform. She headed out with a smile and I sighed and sat on my bed. Then I heard a familiar whoosh sound. "Hey eight!" It was five. "Hey five what's up?" I asked, sitting up. "Well Klaus and I are gonna sneak out to a donut shop. I thought that, maybe you'd enjoy it." He started blushing. Was he? I mean he must be? But why would he? "Sure!" I got up and held his hand. He blinked us to his room. "Hey. Let'sGo!" Klaus said as he opened five's window.

"No fair! You have a fire escape?" I gasped as I went down the ladder after him. He stared down and helped me down. "How have you never noticed?"
"If she was in your room, she was definitely not looking at the window." Klaus snorted and i rolled my eyes. We walked a block before finding a shop. "griddys donuts." I read. We walked in and sat down. "A dozen glazed donuts and uh...." I said looking at the menu. "Coffee!" Five said. "2 black coffees and 1 chocolate milk." Klaus didn't like coffee. "Uhm Ok. 20 dollars?" The lady said. I reached into my pocket but Five stopped my hand and handed her a 20 dollar bill.

"Cmon I invited you." He chuckled to me before grabbing the coffee cups and milk. I smiled softly before Klaus pounced at the box of dozen donuts. We headed back to his room and ate a donut. "These are good!" Klaus was on his 5th donut. Me and five only had one. "Bet 10 bucks he'll puke." I whispered in fives ear. "You're on!" He whispered back.

"I don't feel good..." Klaus ran to the bathroom and retching sounds came forth. "Ew. Klaus I told you not to eat the fifth donut." I laughed and walked to the restroom.

Five's POV:

She walked away from my side with a laugh. Such a beautiful chorus. Was It wrong for me to do this? To think this way? I furrowed my eyebrows to the ground and suddenly she walked out with a moaning and groaning Klaus, clutching his stomach. "Alright. Can you save those for the others? I'll give them to them tomorrow." She smiled to me before dragging away the nauseous boy. "Right. Goodnight." "Goodnight, number five." She smiled and walked out.

That's exactly why. It hit me why I like her so much and think of her constantly. Who else was this nice to everyone? Who else cared for us when were at our lowest? I need Eight. I crave her attention and company. Was that really wrong? Am I selfish to ask her what I want to?

Y/N POV Next day:

"Hey eight can we talk?" Five walked in while I was reading. "Yeah what's up?" I said while bookmarking the book. He had a look on his face which made me a bit worried. "I want to time travel I think I'm ready." He whispered. "Well I will believe in you!" I said smiling. He smiled back and we heard dad call for dinner.
