"I fell in love with you because you loved me when I couldn't love myself"

Y/n's POV:

Five grabbed my hand and we teleported into an apartment that I hope was Vanya's because that would be awkward. "Cmon." Five sat on a couch. I sat on his lap. I was about to turn on the lamp but five stopped me. I looked at him confused but he spoke up "Just watch."

Vanya's POV:

"Jesus!" I jumped as Five turned on the lamp before I turned on the lights. "Ohhh!" I heard y/n chuckle. "Sorry we scared you V." She muttered. "You should have locks on your windows." Five said. "I live on the second floor." I told him confused. "Rapist can climb." To this I saw y/n nudge him. "You're weird." I said sitting on the couch. "Is that blood?" "It's nothing." "It's not nothing! Vanya can I borrow your first aid kit?" She asked to which I nodded and gave it to her. I always liked how she cared for others.if I'm being honest I liked her when we were kids but she liked five and I'm okay with that. "No offense but why are you here?" I asked as y/n cleaned fives wound. "I've decided you're the only one we can trust." He stated staring at y/n. "Why me?" "Because your ordinary." This was a normal thing for me to hear but it sorta hurt. Five hissed as y/n pressed on his wound. I bet she felt bad for me. "Because you'll listen." Y/n corrected him. They were made for each other. Like yin and yang. Like ladybugs and black cats. Both opposites yet perfect.

"When we jumped forward and got stuck in the future, do you know what we found?" I shook my head "no" "nothing." Y/n spoke up. "Absolutely nothing." Five finished. "As far as I can tell me and y/n were the last people on the planet." Five said. I saw the pain in his eyes. "We never figured out what killed the human race. But we did find something." Y/n said brushing her fingers through her hair. "The date it happens." Five said holding y/n's hand. "The world ends in eight days and we have no idea how to stop it." Eight and five said at the same time. I was speechless. I spoke up "I'll put on a pot of coffee."

Y/n's POV;

"We survived on scraps. Canned food, cockroaches, anything We could find." Five told Vanya. I took a sip of my coffee and I heard five chuckle. "You know that rumor that Twinkies have an endless shelf life?" Vanya nodded in response. "Yeah, it's total bullshit." I laughed. "I can't even imagine."
"You do whatever it takes to survive, or you die. So we adapted." I said looking at my coffee but I could feel their eyes on me. "Whatever the world threw at us, we found a way to overcome it." "We?" "You got anything stronger?" Five asked.

Vanya took out some alcohol and poured a cup. "No thanks." I shook my head as Vanya offered me some. "You think we're crazy don't you." Five scoffed. "No. It's just... it's a lot to take in." Vanya stuttered. "Exactly what don't you understand?" I could tell five was getting mad so I put my hand on his shoulder. "Why didn't you just time travel back?" "Gee, wish I'd thought of that." Five being his usual sarcastic self. But seriously vanya that was an idiotic question. "Vanya I love you and all but that's a dumb question. Time travel is a crapshoot. We went into the ice and never acorn-ed. You think We didn't try everything to get back to our family?" I looked away just remembering the state we were in all those years. No family. No home. Barely food. Me and Five. Against the world, or what was left of it.

I was dragged out of my thoughts because of Vanya. "If you grew old there, you know, in the apocalypse, how come you still look like a kid?" Me and Five scoffed. Apparently some people don't listen! "We told you already. I must have got the equations wrong." Five was tapping his foot so I rested my hand on his knee. "I mean, Dad always used to say that...time travel could mess up your mind. Well, maybe that's what's happening?" This pissed me the hell off. I am not crazy. I didn't imagine that shit.
