CHAPTER 22
It was one of those moments in my relatively short time in my life, thus so far, that I will never ever forget.
And before this moment I never believed in the reality of Dragons
But there I was, standing just a few feet away from a real live one, peacefully sleeping in some kind of forced hibernation.
But the peaceful silence , bar the occasional snort coming from the Dragon, was about to be disturbed.
We both heard the alarm bells ringing in the distance, outside these walls, Solomon reacted first, for I didn't know at the time, that danger lurked close behind .
"Oh hell ! We've been breached! Quickly, follow me Norak!
"What! By whom ?" I asked.
"Only powerful magic can breach this place!" Said Solomon hurrying towards the exit.
I tried to pursue him, but a sudden surge of adrenaline soared through my veins, but this time the sensation was stronger, and stranger than before. Pain surged through out my head, causing me to stop.
I dropped to my knees, and grabbed my head trying to stop the pain.
Then the buzzing begun to take over in my head, as the pain slowly eased away , regaining some of my senses .
I looked up to see Solomon had already hurried off and was out of sight.
The buzzing in my head, now felt more like a vibration.
Suddenly, from the side of my head I saw what was causing it.
The spear, now floating inches from my face, was steady as a rock, and somehow seemed to be trying to connect with me.
I jolted falling akwardly sideways to the floor. As I looked back, the spear reacted too, moving slightly sideways, and away from me.
Then it happened once more, I was seeing everything in super clarity, again, as a red filter fell over my eyes, just like before, back In the belly of Mt Kronus.
Confused and unaware if I was in a dream or not, I got up with a buzzing still in my head, making me feel woozy and unsteady on my feet.
I slowly walked towards the exit, followed, by the spear, floating close behind.
The day light was super bright as I exited the mouth of the cave, and thankfully the red filter over my eyes disappeared.
I found that pinching myself several times, helped to remind me that, just maybe, I wasn't dreaming.
Then suddenly as if it never happened the noise in my head subsided completely.
I looked over my right to see the spear hovering close by my side, and had no idea what to make of it.
I was then immediately distracted by some kind of canon fire, coming from just ahead.
But the thundering blasts seemed to be coming my way, and towards the cave. But there was no sign of any Canon ball bombardment
Two men dressed in fine long grey tunic, were running towards me.
" Out of the way!" shouted the one , running passed me and stopping at the mouth of the cave.
"You must be Norak?" Said the younger of the two, as he slowed down to a brisk walk.
"Solomon asked us to check on you! Are you alright?" He continued, then stopped and fixed his gaze on the spear, hovering by my side.
Then was reminded to join his colleague at the foot of the cave, and begun chanting words in a language foreign to me.
I take it they're the good guys. I thought to my self.
