CHAPTER 29
It was time to return back to reality and leave Nisso, whatever or wherever that place actually was, none of us really understood.
And that was even after Pietro tried to explain it to us, three times. Was it a part of this world or from another realm?
What ever the difference was, we took it for granted that there are things that exists that our small minds cannot truly comprehend.
But to be truthful, no one in their right minds, ever thought, or even considered, the existence of other worlds .
The team, General Karaskes, Jake, Morat and Matsu, decided they would go back to Platorus, the merciless city which kept all of them, bar Jake the Assassin, as slaves, to fight in the Arena.
Unfortunately, without a guide like Sheanna, to take them back through the mountain, their only option was to go back the long way around.
Of course that route would ultimately take them a lot longer to reach south, and to their destination.
We have now nicknamed the creatures 'Roaches', as they reminded us of cockroaches especially for the way they swarm together, and have two antennae for communication.
Pietro was so excited about meeting the legendary Master Briant, and wanted to learn everything he could about the portals.
In fact, he was so intrigued by this mysterious wizard, that he didn't even notice when Solomon whisked the remainder of us, Sheanna, my brothers and myself, all out of Nisso.
Earlier in the day the Dragon hunted the last of the giant birds which had entered Nisso through the crack in the sky, and then disappeared through it himself, exiting this once prison of his.
Perhaps it would be for the very last time, as Pietro, with the help of Briant, somehow had sealed the crack in the sky.
We found our selves back on familiar territory, filled with a mood of darkness , as people were fleeing for their lives.
We spoke with travellers escaping the woods, and we heard stories of atrocities. Warning us to stay away from surroundings of densely woodlands.
It seems these Roaches are drawn to the woodland, where Felippo's power is at its most greatest, as he uses the Tree of Life as his host.
So we kept mainly on to open ground, making our way towards the large hill and toward its peak, a place that the Dragon and I had previously visited, and had agreed to rendezvous.
The plan was for my brethren and myself to finally return to our homeland, that is of course If there was one to go back to . Thankfully the Dragon offered to take us there, on Dragon back of course.
Word reached us that Roaches had breached Sheanna's homeland, and what ever was left of her people, had scattered far and wide. So, left with no other choice, she decided to come with us.
In the not too far distance, our sense of smell picked up heavy smoke coming from the north. Perhaps people were fighting back, and out of desperation, were burning the woods, trying to destroy the creatures.
In the distance, the faint familiar flapping of wings gave as a sign of relief that the Dragon was finally approaching, and just in the nick of time it seemed.
The sound of a tremendous thunder of heavy hooves, seemed to be coming our way, and were running the opposite direction to the fire.
"Norak, are you at the rendezvous yet?" The Dragon's voice suddenly ripped through my head.
" Almost !" I replied immediately, as I was taken aback by the Dragon's sudden interruption.
"Well you should know, beasts of all sizes are almost at the base of the hill, and I'm hoping you're already on higher ground!" He continued.
