CHAPTER 27

Above us, Felippo had just created a fire ball in his hand , as big as my head, and was about to unleash it down upon us. " Heads up everyone! " The fire ball sped quickly towards our group, but thankfully, Pietro's new shielding barrier, had put a stop to it, as the fire slammed and splashed upon it, disappearing into thin air.

Before long all the Dark ones, bar a couple who floated upwards towards the battle high up in the air.

Robert was doing a good job, fighting the birds and their riders, for his speed and strength were more than match for them, but unfortunately their sheer numbers alone, were causing him concern.

I noticed Devin was still stuck between the Brag's skull, and with a little hand gesture, the spear landed in my hand.

I pauzed for a brief moment , looking around at the scene, trying to work out my next move.
The crowd, in their hundreds, who had filled the seatings to full capacity, only a few minutes ago, have now diminished to just a couple of dozen.

Soldiers were now slowly replacing the now almost empty amphitheater, armed with bows and arrows, and filling up the u-shaped seating area of the Arena.

I watched the two Dark ones approaching Robert, slowly sneaking from below, who was unaware of the danger. He was trying hard not to be overwhelmed, not just from the bird's large claws, but the many arrows from their riders, which were narrowly missing him.

So I jumped on the spear and flew to a safe distance to analyse my next move, to help Robert or take out the new threat from the soldiers.

My instincts told me to focus on the soldiers instead, and found myself clenching hard in to my palm, on to the crystal that wasn't there.

I flew high setting a position roughly above the centre of the Arena, to have good visual on both sides of the theatre, and waited for my eyes to change.

I thanked the Gods as my eyes, saw red once again, and started spraying the beams. I shot above and below their heads and feet, at first.

Exploding stone debris upon them, was meant as a warning, but they hardly flinched, and stood their ground.

They then rained their arrows on me, relentlessly, but in their haste to kill me, they failed to realise, a fatal error, until it was far too late.

The trajectory of their missiles fell criss-cross on opposite sides of the u-shaped Arena, maiming, and killing each other.

To rub salt into their wounds, during their confusion, I bombarded the walls heavily, just below them, with more beams this time.

The exploding debris hit them harder his time and finally decided enough was enough, as I watched the able, scrambled off and out of the Arena.

I looked back at the situation back on the ground, and noticed that all animals must have run off, to hide in the deep shadows of the large Arena.

As one problem was dealt with, I then turned my attention to my comrades below, and realised they were still pinned down by the Dark ones.

I started throwing red beams onto the Dark ones, but as I predicted, they had already protected themselves with magic shields.

From the side of my eye I sensed movement, coming fast from the rear, towards me. I almost fell off the spear trying to avoid the incoming attack.

"Norak!" It's me!" Said a voice.

Levitating just a yard away from me, was Parissa .

I moved away, spinning around a full circle in the air around, before halting several feet away, and pausing for a moment to recollect.
