CHAPTER 9: PROVOCATION

Aishi's POV

I can't believe I didn't even realize that we messed up until now, I'm so stupid!

Wh-what do we do now...?!

"I'm sorry... I-it's my fault, kung hindi lang matigas ang ulo ko. Siguro hindi tayo nag-papanik." I said it but Jayce then exclaimed at me.

"No! It's not your fault! Kasalanan ko ito, kung sana hindi ako nataranta ng nakita ka at kung agad-agad nating ginamot ang mga sarili natin, hindi tayo mag-papanik. I mean, natural lang sayo na mag-panik, Aishi. Ikaw ang nawawalan ng memorya."

"Blaming ourselves will obviously not solve this problem. We made a fatal mistake, but it's too early to give up. Lalabanan natin ito." Layleson stared into the screen, eyes flaming with determination.

Ngumiti si Jayce, at tinapak ako sa likod.

"He's right, we will overcome this."

"Y-yeah... Yeah!" Tinatagan ko ang loob ko.

"Gusto niyang maglaro ng ganito? Fine. Let's play this way." Layleson glared at the direction of the Mastermind, mukhang may plano nang nabubuo sa isip niya. I just hope sapat na solusyon na yun upang makakaalis kami sa sitwasyong ito.

Layleson stretched his arms to Jayce. Nakuha naman ni Jayce ang idea ni Layleson kaya may kinuha siya sa bag. But he winced when he reached for this backpack. Oh no! His wound!

"A-ako na... Alin ba dito ang kukunin mo?" I offered to help.

"U-uhmm, yung... plain white na folder. Salamat ha?"

Tumango lang ako at kinuha yun. Ako na mismo ang bumigay kay Layleson ng file, hindi siya sumulyap sa amin at dali-daling binuklat ang file.

With just a minute he quickly scanned it, his eyes moving so fast. May naiintindihan kaya siya? I hope so.

Pagkatapos nun isinirado niya ang file at pumikit ng maigi, he inhaled and then exhaled. Binigay niya nag file kay Jayce by putting the file on his chest.

And with that, he took a step forward.

"As expected of a Mastermind. That's quite clever." He stood infront of the two robots. "I don't know where you're watching us right now, but..." May kinuha siyang card sa bulsa niya at ipinakita sa dalawang robots na nakatayo sa harapan niya. "You wanted to meet the Ultimates, huh?" After he said that he flicked the card and it fell on the floor.

Dali-dali naman akong lumapit dun, sumunod din si Jayce.

Then I saw an extravagant logo on the card. T-That's...! I somehow recognize it but... I can't remember it.

"L-layle!" Jayce warned Layleson. Wait, he knows this logo?

"Surely you do recognize this card. Now, do you?"

The Mastermind didn't respond.

"Should I introduce you to them?"

Silence, was the Mastermind taken by surpise? I guess so.

"No answer, why? Cat got your tongue?"
