My whole world

Chapter 2

Karas POV
The bell finally rang. I quickly got out of my classroom to find my sister, as I knew she also has a free period. I go to call her but she doesn't pick up. I see a text saying "Hey kara I'm getting drinks with my friends, I'm sorry I'll be back soon. Meet you at lunch I love you"

I texted her back saying it's fine but I'm actually not fine. I go to my locker and take out a book and I go to sit down and read it. As I was reading it, this girl approached me "hey you, yes you with the book" I quickly stand up and put my book into my bag. "Uh yeah?" I say quietly. "My friends over there and I really don't want to do our history homework. You will do it" "what why?" I said confused "because we said so duh" she said as she snatched my bag out of my hand and dumped it out.

Alex's POV
I felt bad for leaving Kara all alone but I didn't want to make my friends think I only hang out with my sister. As we got back inside the school I see my sister almost crying cleaning up her stuff into her bag. I rush over to help her "hey hey I got it. Kara what happened" "Nothing, I -I just tripped and my stuff fell out" she said. I don't believe her, she wouldn't be so upset about it.

Lois walks up to us "hey Alex what are you doing, come on we're sitting in the student lounge" "Uh yeah one second I just need to help her real quick" I say smiling at her. Lois looks at me with a confused look but walks back to the others.

"Kara tell me what happened, I want the truth this time" "This girl she threatened me and dumped my stuff all over the ground" she said crying "Alex I needed you here" I feel bad for her now I should've been the big sister I was taught to be.

*Time jump to the last period*
General POV
School is almost over, Kara and Alex make their way out to find Eliza. They each got a paper with after school clubs they could join.
Alex already signed up for the soccer team, Kara although still doesn't know what she'll choose.

Eliza pulls up and greets the girls "Hey how are my beautiful girls!" "Hey Mom we're good" both girls said as they got into the car. Alex sat in the front seat. She saw Lois and her friends standing there and she called them to say goodbye. Alex got out to hug her before getting back in the car and going home.

As they arrived Kara quickly ran upstairs into her room to start the history homework. Alex went to sit down on the couch while Eliza got started on dinner. Luckily the history homework wasn't much so Kara finished right in time for dinner.

As they were eating Eliza opens conversations "So how was it? Did you enjoy your first day?" Kara nodded and said "yes it was okay" Eliza smiled knowing how nervous her youngest daughter can get. "Alex what about you, I saw you made some new friends" "yes they're great Lois and I got really close" Alex said happily.

They finished dinner and the girls headed on to bed while Eliza did the dishes.

Karas POV
I finished dinner and went to get ready for bed. I am not excited for tomorrow. I brushed my teeth and put on my Pyjamas and made my way into my bed. Alex came into my room and sat next to me "I'm sorry for not being there, I should've helped you" she said "It's okay Alex, you have your own life to live" I said as I gave her a hug. "No Kara, when you came here I promised to protect you and I failed" Alex said with a sad look.

"Alex that was 8 years ago, I'm not 6 years old anymore. You cant blame yourself for not protecting me" I said. I hated seeing my sister sad, especially when it came to her thinking she failed me. "Kara you'll always be my little sister no matter how long it's been, I need to protect you." Alex stroked my hair, I smiled. She gave me a kiss and said I love you before going into her own room.

The next morning Alex woke me up rushing. Eliza had to work early so we had to take the bus. Alex forgot to turn her alarm on so we were running late. "Kara have you seen my keys?!" "they're on the table" I yelled as I finished putting on my shoes. Both of us rushed to the bus stop barely making it.

Alex's POV
Kara and I got into the bus out of breath, I saw Sara,Kelly and Lois, they motioned me over to them but I sat down next to Kara. "How are you feeling today?" I ask her as I squeeze her hand. "Fine I guess, I'm kind of nervous" "what's your schedule like today? maybe I can find classes to come and see you after" "uhm I have junior math, junior AP science twice, English, History and AP Biology lastly"

"Oh wow I guess we have the same classes except for English and history" I said smiling at her. She smiled back and put her head on my shoulder. I hugged her tight and stroked her golden hair, "I'm so happy you're my sister Alex" she said looking at me with those big ocean blue eyes "Kara I'm happy that YOU are my sister" I told her as I put her head back on my shoulder
