My whole world

Chapter 8

Alex's POV
We arrive home and I help Kara onto the couch. She is struggling with the crutches. "How will she get to her room mom?" I ask "we can either carry her up or she sleeps on the couch for a few days." Kara was not thrilled about it. "Oh and Alex I need you to look out for her in school for a while" mom said. I just nodded and sat down next to my sister.

Kara is reading her book while I'm texting my friends, I get a text from Lois saying she wants to hang out tonight and asked me to come over. "Hey mom, Lois asked if I can come over to her house can I?" "No sorry Alex, I have to head out and I can't leave your sister here all alone. But she can come here if she wants." Mom answers. I nod and text Lois, she agreed and made her way to my house.

When Lois arrived mom was already gone so it was just me and Kara. I got some snacks and sandwiches ready when there was a knock on the door. I open it and it was Lois. "Hey Danvers how you been" "Hey I'm good how about you" she heads into the living room giving Kara a little smile.

"Uh I got some snacks and sandwiches ready, we can take some into my room if you like?" I ask Lois, she agreed and helped me carry the food upstairs. "If you need anything just text me or call me down okay?" I tell Kara "okay sure yeah" she says I stroke her face and head to my room.

"Your sister is really sweet haha" Lois tells me "yeah I'm glad she's my sister, but she can also be a handful" I joke. We talk and laugh until we decided to invite some of our teammates. They knock at the door and Kara takes her crutches and opens it. "Oh I didn't realize Alex invited more people,she's in her room upstairs first room to your left" I rush down when I hear voices "hey Kara sit back down I got it" I help her sit down and greet my teammates.

"Are you hungry? I can bring you down some sandwiches? Or a snack maybe" I ask Kara "no I'm fine thanks but could you help me get into my room I want to rest in my own bed" I agree and help her into her room and make my way back to my friends. We hung out for about 3 hours when they made their way home. After saying goodbye I check on Kara seeing her sleeping peacefully, I go to lay down next to her and hug her. I fell asleep next to her until mom came back and woke us up.

Karas POV
After my long nap mom woke me up and Alex was sleeping next to me. Mom carried me downstairs and Alex took my crutches. Both of them got started on dinner while I sat at the table texting Nia and Lena. They were my only friends in my new school and I hoped they could help me because of my broken foot.

Alex set the table and both of them brought over the food. We ate and talked about our day. Alex told me about her big win in her soccer game. I listened excitedly and told her how proud I am. I can't wait for her next game to hopefully be there.

We finished dinner and I took my crutches and sat on the couch. Alex unset the table and put the leftovers away while Eliza did the dishes. Alex came to sit down with me she put her arms around me and gave me a kiss. "I'm driving us to school tomorrow okay?" she tells me "If we get there alive" I joke. She nudged my arm and laughed. We watched some tv before going to bed.

She helped me up the stairs and change into some more comfortable clothes. I put my hair up and put the crutches next to my bed. Alex came to say goodnight and got ready herself. She always stays in my room until I fall asleep, it's sweet but I don't get it. After she finished getting ready she came and sat next to me and she told me stories of her dream future. I loved them she made me close my eyes and picture it and I usually fall asleep soon after
