Chapter 5: Flashback

(Reminder before you keep reading, like I said, I haven't watched all eps and current arcs of One piece and still at Dressrosa arc, so there might be wrong info or storyline put here)

flashback...

as the Roger Pirates disband, every single pirate go their separate ways, and some leaving together, like Rayleigh taking Buggy and Shanks with him after their captain's execution.

"Where are we going?" A little Shanks asked while sitting at the side of the ship, in front of Rayleigh who is fixing the sails.

"We're going back to my home island, you and Buggy will stay there for awhile" Rayleigh answered as he finally folds the sails, making the small ship move slower.

Shanks just looked down while folding himself with his arms on his knees, hiding his face who holds an emotionless look, sobbing a bit. Rayleigh glances at the kid, making him frown, but looks away and goes back inside, leaving the kid some space for awhile.

but before he could proceed inside, he heard a silent cry with a follow of sobs inside, just behind the door. He just goes at the back of the ship and sits there, taking a cigarette out of his pocket and lighting it up.

'Roger's execution really took a lot on the kids, especially Shanks, what should I do about it?' Rayleigh thought while puffing out smoke.

Rayleigh just looks up at the sky, staring at the stars that shined bright this night. A small drop of tear suddenly runs down Rayleigh's cheek, making him surprised and wiping it off, until he remember Roger's words.

soon, tears finally broke out, but he didn't sob or wail or even make a single sound. He just lets it flow and continues to look up at the stars.

Next morning, Rayleigh didn't sleep at all, he needed to keep a look out, and most of all, he couldn't sleep. As he gets to the deck, he sees a sleeping Shanks whos face can finally be seen. His eyes were puffy, obvious that he has been crying all night, with his reddish nose, a little snot still there.

Rayleigh unfolds the sails making the small ship suddenly move, making Shanks wake up at the sudden movement, followed by a sudden thud back inside and also a curse.

"Looks like your awake now" Rayleigh said while turning the ship a bit back at their course, while Shanks fixes his sitting position.

"if you want to sleep more, go back inside. Buggy's probably also awake there" Rayleigh said while taking out his extra compass to see if they're going the right way. Shanks stands up and heads inside, meeting a slightly grumpy Buggy.

The next day, they finally got to Rayleigh's home island, Gin Island. It was a very peaceful island, with nothing much happening, but people just doing their business, mostly mining, since it was what the Island was known for.

(Gin is actually silver in Japanese. And I only made this Island and the name by myself, so don't expect that this is in the series. Though I'm not sure lol)

As their small ship lands at the shore with a slight shake as it hits the land, Rayleigh gets off taking a sack of apples with him along. Shanks and Buggy also gets off slowly as they follow Rayleigh who was already walking to straight in a path that's leading to the village.

"Hey hurry up!" Rayleigh yelled at the two kids who were still way behind him. As soon as they hear him, they immediately run to catch up.

As all of three of them walk along the path, seeing some houses and some stores on the way, they start to go up a hill, away from the other houses. They meet an old house, some vines almost devouring it.
