Another year passed blissfully, before it was unanimously decided that the children needed to start their training in their realms and spend the better part of their day in getting familiarised with their powers instead of frolicking around on islands chasing little butterflies or something.

And as expected, it did not sit well with the Sun God in training.

Not at all.

"Father, can I beg you to reconsider?", Apollo asked in desperation.

"No can do Apollo. I think that you need to start dedicating a large portion of your time to grow into the God you are meant to be.", Zeus answered back.

"But what about Atlanta? I won't get to see her at all then!!", Apollo spat in retort.

"Don't be foolish, boy. You may see her a few times between long periods of time or write to her regularly. You just would not see her everyday, that's all."

"That's all?!! How could you be so nonchalant about it?!!!", Apollo screamed at his father, before running away to his room and locking it behind him.

Sliding down the door of the room, Apollo put his hands on his face and sighed heavily, thoughts turning dark.

They wouldn't understand. They couldn't feel the pain and loneliness Lana keeps at bay by just staying by his side. With her gone for long periods of time, Apollo has the chance to succumb to his dark thoughts.

They couldn't know, that parting with your other half was just not possible. They never found the other bearer of the same soul as him, after all. But Apollo had, and trying to keep his Lana away is making his head erupt with dark ideas. Ideas on how he could just rip out all the obstacles in his way until she alone stood in front of him.

How could they be so merciless? Taking away his only support, his only tethering point to this world? Taking away the one who is protecting Apollo from himself?

He could already feel the void that keeps clawing at his chest with the mere mention of her being gone. He doesn't even want to know what might happen to him, when this actually comes to pass.

Nobody would understand him. Not his father, his mother, or even his twin sister. For they have not known the soothing hands of their better half gently pushing the pain away. They have not experienced how much peace it could bring to him to just hear his Lana's silly planning on going for a swim for endless time. They have not felt the peace which came to him when he stared at her beautiful eyes without a word for a long time.

Without her by his side to keep the dark thoughts away, Apollo feared that he might spiral into madness. This fear clawing at his heart might become destructive.

He was afraid that if his Lana was not there to calm him and smile reassuringly in his direction, he might destroy Olympus and rip the world apart to get her back by his side.

The knocking on the door pulled Apollo out of the dark corners of his mind. Refusing to let anyone inside their room, Apollo angrily bit out. "Go away if you don't want to be blasted by a golden beam of light this early in the morning!! I don't want to talk to anyone right now!!"

It was silent for a bit, and Apollo thought that the person might have left him alone. But of course he was proven wrong when a soft voice replied from the other side of the door.

"So I should go away then?"

Apollo blanched when he realized that he had shouted at his best friend. Scrambling to get back on his feet, Apollo cursed himself in his head. Atlanta had never done anything to warrant such horrible treatment.
