Phoebus Apollo would hereby like to amend his previous line of thoughts.

He would confess his feelings to Lana tomorrow. Today was..... just a trial. Yeah, just a trial.

And nothing could stop him, that's true. With the exception of his self criticism and self doubt.

Atlanta was way better off as just friends. Best friends. She could do much better than him.

And yes, he would pretend that the words 'just friends' did not leave a horrible taste in his mouth.

Nope, Phoebus Apollo, the slayer of the mighty Python, can't do this.

He is officially the most chicken-esque God in the whole universe. Who couldn't even say three words to his best friend since childhood? He would have made a great career as a chicken though.

No. Phoebus Apollo could do this. He was neither a chicken nor a rabbit, like Arty likes to tell him all the time. He was the GREAT GOD OF THE SUN FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! HE COULD DO THIS!!!

"-ebus? Phoebus? Are you in there? Or did you get lost in the mess that you call your head?", Atlanta waved her hand in front of her best friend's face, giggling at him all the while.

Apollo pushed his thoughts to the back of his mind, and resolutely turned to face Atlanta right in the face with a confident look.

"Lana I-"

"Yes?"

"......think that the Sun temperature is too hot today, isn't it? Wow, my bad. I promise it won't be this warm tomorrow."

Apollo sighed for the umpteenth time in his head. There goes attempt number 14.

Atlanta giggled. "You don't need to do that Phoebus!! The temperature is perfectly fine!! And you do the most important thing, which is bring out the Sun regularly!!! So it's perfect, don't worry!!"

Apollo smiled in his best friend's direction, all the while having a mental breakdown.

Maybe he should really heed his sister's advice and consider making a living out of being a chicken.

"Everything alright Phoebus? You seem a little distracted today, I guess."

"Me? Distracted? What a silly thought. I am perfectly fine, you see!!"

"Yeah, but something seems off. Are you nervous or something? Did the girl of your dreams break your heart? Tell me who it is, and I would need your help in finding a good place to hide her body.", Atlanta said threateningly, while cracking her knuckles for a dramatic effect.

Apollo sighed in reality this time.

Oh, did he forget to tell that he still hadn't gotten to the part where Atlanta would actually get to know that the 'so-called girl of his dreams' is not who she thinks could possibly be?

He forgot? Well, even the Sun has its own personal issues to deal with, so does it's driver. Deal with it.

Apollo once again gathered his remaining bits of courage, and looked at Atlanta.

"Lana!!"

"Yes?"

"...Why are we sitting under the shade of a tree on such a lovely day? Let's go and enjoy the heat!!"

"Phoebus, you told it yourself a few minutes ago, that we should enjoy the coolness of the shade in comparison to the scorching heat of the sun."

"Of course!! I just wanted to check whether you changed your mind about it yet."
