Chapter Nine : Promise

"Hey bro! Let me borrow your earphones- wait, I'll just take it"

Sofia chuckles making Him groan in annoyance "Gosh, you're annoying"

"You still love me though" Sofia shouted as she walks out of the door with happiness filled in her tone.

The two lived alone since Vernon was  20 that time and he knew he is responsible enough to take care of Sophia.

Vernon joined Seungcheol's group when he was about 17 years old because of Seungkwan. He accidentally ran unto Seungkwan and Seungkwan had witness Vernon's skills.

Sophia was the only person who supported Vernon through his shits even though it's illegal. Sophia knew his brother is a murderer but she didn't mind since he promised to kill only for a purpose.

The reason why she seemed like she's use to it because his brother killed their parent's but she understands his reasons.

She stills remember the day that she saw his brother slit the throat of their parents because of her. Their parents were suppose to sell them off to some people not until Vernon killed them.

The trauma was honestly still present but she tries to shrugged it off for her brother.

These two siblings were known for their american looks. Their genes were uniquely beautiful in people's eyes that's why people admire them.

But when admiration comes, Jealousy will always be present. Sofia never really cared about them at first until these two men came.

Jian and Brian made Sofia feel insecure and annoyed at herself. She began to get angry for some reason and would distance herself.

Ugly, mistake, die were the words her mind kept on repeating because these were the same words Brian and Jian spoke to her.

Vernon never really noticed since he would finish he's business at midnight to only see sofia sleeping. Well, that's what he thinks.

Behind her sleeping eyes were tears and shouts wanting to be done. She never had the courage to speak about her situation to his brother because she was afraid.

She was afraid that he's brother would end up like his parents. Mental health wasn't really that open when it comes to old people that made it hard for them to understand.

Day by day she began to lose motivation as if she was just tired of living. She knew life was a challenge but what if she wants this challenge to end?

Sofia is currently crying in her balcony as she wishes to die slowly. She's losing hope in living so he decided to plan things.

"Hey, did something happen?"

Vernon entered the room as Sofia smiled wiping her tears "Yeah, it's nothing"

"Don't think I didn't see you crying for the past months, I decided to shrug it off since you need time but now it's different"

"How is it different?" Sofia asks making Vernon smile "It's because you need someone and I'll be that someone"

Sofia chuckles as she knew that his brother skipped work for her. It made her guilty at the same time happy.

"So, wanna tell me something?" Vernon asks making Sofia nod slowly "I feel useless, I don't know. Some kid at our school said that I should just di-"

"That kid said what?!" Vernon interrupted making sofia nod slightly

"Don't you dare leave me alone! You're the only one I have left and you're gonna leave?!" Vernon cried making sofia chuckle. She was guilty about her future plans but she knew her plans won't stop anymore.
