Now that I looked around. The garden was concealed by a huge wall from all sides. Norvadian runic tablets were placed on a few trees, the symbols for "protection" and "concealment".

This was one of the sacred gardens known only to the royal couple.

It makes sense to use this as a secret meeting place. This was the easiest to use because of its accessibility to the inside of the throne room.

But then, I remembered the intense stare of my Uncle and shivered.

Krei must have noticed because he took off his jacket and placed it on my shoulder. The heat from the fabric and his scent were calming and I buried my nose against the cloth.

Just then a huge shadow appeared by the trees. I stood up just as Krei's eyes turned red as he shielded me.

" The stars are out tonight." The male shadow recited.

"There are no stars on the horizon." Krei seems to have calmed down as he answered back.

"Well met." The voice belonged to an older man as he came out.

"You..are Siria's contact?" Krei looked stunned. "You were supposed to be in Vedra-9 on retirement."

Feeling the bewilderment in our mental link. I peeked from my mate's shoulders to get a glimpse of the male he was speaking to.

He seems to be Kindred and he was like an older version of Krei. He was clad in a black cloak and I could see silver lines in his blonde tresses which were tied in a ponytail.

"It seems like I have been apologizing way too frequently these days to you, Krei. Forgive me once again."

"...We will talk about this once we retrieve the hidden plans. Patro."

"Agreed, son."

Son? Oh! This makes so much more sense.

The older Kindred looked at me and his blue eyes glimmered with emotion as he walked closer and bowed to me.

"Greetings, Princess Andromeda. I am Rion Lii. I am Siria's contact here in the Royal Palace at your service." He spoke respectfully to me as his voice became poignant. "I knew your father and he was someone I called friend. Will you help me make amends for everything I have done?"

He seems to be repenting but for what?

"Oh..what did you do wrong, if I may ask?"
