Chapter 17: An Invite

"So you are coming with us to help the Resistance fight for their independence?"

Karyn asked me after our training one day. The ship is already in the same system where Norvadia was orbiting and a plan has formed.

The resistance currently has an off-world base at a tiny satellite planet not too far from their homeworld. The ship plans to make contact with the people there and formulate a strategy on how to put an end to the usurper's rule.

No one in this ship knows that they were harboring the remaining royal Norvadian family but I will have to tell the captain of this vessel soon.

For my mate's sake and her family.

And she did agree with me that we must be transparent with the leader of this mission.

"Yes."

"Why? You already got your woman. This is not your fight. I think you should just return to Earth." The Beast Kindred yawned loudly.

"We just finished training. Is Captain Asher available?"

"Hmm? Yeah, he is. Why do you need me to arrange a meeting between you two?"

"Not just with me. I will need you too on this little talk as you are my battle brother's young sibling. I trust that whatever information you hear will be kept a secret."

Karyn did not say anything but he obediently nodded and went to the com system to locate and talk to his superior.

I called my mate through our link, who seems to be startled a bit before she answered me.

Andi, Karyn is now arranging a meeting between us and Captain Asher. You are sure about revealing your identity?

...Yes. I need to do this.

Alright, Talana....I'll come to fetch you when the time is right.

Captain Asher was an older Beast Kindred with his spiky hair threaded with silver but he was still a capable warrior if he needs to go into battle. The numerous scar the marred the older Kindred's hands and neck were proof of the countless battles he fought in the name of the Kindred.

When he met us and my mate explained that they were the lost royal family who escaped. The old captain was skeptical but then Andi changed into her "Norvadian skin" which was a light royal periwinkle purple with silvery star markings on her face and body, her brown-green eyes becoming more vibrant. Her black hair glowing until it became pale as starlight with pastel tints at the end.

"You are a Norvadian indeed and this shade of purple is only seen on the royale family but to prove yourself, I need to confirm if you are the Late King Gyre's daughter." He reached a closed and opened it. "It was said the crown princess has certain " guardians" that were always with her and when she fled, one of her ladies in waiting managed to save them in their capsule form. If you are indeed that princess...you should know how to work this out."

Andi's eyes widened before she swallowed audibly as she touched the small silver ball in the captain's hand.

"Activation code, 9175. Alpha Guardian." She whispered but the silver ball merely shivered. " Confirm voice recognition now."

The tiny sphere suddenly hesitated and a blue scan passed over Andi which caused the sphere to triple in size, A mechanical eye the size of a golf ball was at its center and the sphere now had Norvadian rune ridge marks against its silvery shiny surface and finally, the emblem of the Royal family was stamped on its side.
