Krei:

"Before we proceed. I want to check something that is along the way."

We were under the Royal Archives, an underground place where only the King is aware of its existence. But before he could divulge its secrets to his heir, which was the princess.

He was killed by his own brother.

But he set someone up as his "mouthpiece", an individual is known only to him to swear an oath of promise and tell his heir his secrets when the time is right.

That mouthpiece was...me.

I only managed to recall all of King Gyre's secrets he divulged to me when I was looking at the 3D diagram plan in the Resistance Camp and since then, I have been running simulations in my head on where the "Royal Sword Fanadyr" is.

This particular sword is the key to turning the tides of the war and...it is the very tool to recognize Andi's birthright as the next Queen.

"Can't we do that later?" Andi asked even as she followed me, my father not too far behind. " Time is running out and we need those plans."

"Believe me. We need this more." I stressed out as I reached out and held her hand. " We are almost there.

"...Let's hurry up then. We are running out of time." She urged me to lead the way.

According to what I saw. There is a cubic-shaped room with a huge statue of a Fanadyr, an ancient creature similar to a huge dragon blessed with angelic wings. We found it in no time as it was the only statue inside a room.

I flattened my palms against the statue's stone body and pushed till it creaked and slid backward.

Under it was an aged sword with a rusty sheath which I took immediately. But then...we heard footsteps so I quickly tucked it within the confines of my cloak as I  planted a small terrain destabilizer which caused the walls in the room to collapse as we made our escape.

Kloan should never find out about the sword.

"This way!" Father led us to a shadowed narrow corner where we hid as the guards ran past us towards the destroyed room before we slipped out the opposite side where the plans are hidden.

I could feel my mate's anxiety mounting as Father led us deeper into the archives...

The sounds of the guards disappeared and I felt Andi's relief that we are far away from the commotion.

"I told Siria that we would be in and out. This is making a lot of noise." She muttered.

"Covert Mission rarely stays covert especially when it comes to overthrowing a corrupt relative," I answered back.

"Let's just hurry up." Andi made a face and I chuckled.

"End of the line."

Rion stopped as we entered a wide room.

But it was not just any area. It was....a room filled with revolving stars.

Small twinkling lights swirling around the darkened walls like millions of diamonds in the night sky.

"It...It's beautiful..."

"This is Lumen Astra. The Hall of Stars. For years the royal family uses the ancient magick here to store their most precious objects." Rion looked around in wonder. "I'll stand guard. Retrieve what is needed."

When he left the room. I pressed my skin chip and my guardian disabled its cloaking device and begin hovering around the room scanning it.

The red lines from the guardian's eye soon converged till it formed a small box that suddenly took shape.

"Norvadian magic is really something." Andi went closer and opened the box and inside...

were the floor plans of the Royal Palace.

Only the true heir of the Norvakian bloodline can take things out of Lumen Astra so when Andi took the floor plans without triggering any trap mechanism.

This proves that she is really the true heir of the King.

"Let's go. We do not have a moment to lose." She hid the plans inside a storage cube by shrinking the documents.

"I'll contact Karyn and Al to verify their location then make our escape."

A few minutes later, The three of us were out of the archives and back at the gardens.

"The nearest servant's exit is here. Let's hurry while the coast is clear." Room ushered us towards a small hidden gate and opened it.

However, the moment the gates closed. Dozens of black blades were pointed at our throats.

"...Crap" I bristled as my father and I shielded Andi from the wicked blades that the snarling Skeldoram were pointing at us.

"Well well well...." A tall Norvadian wearing a severe ponytail hairdo and black clothes smirked at seeing us. "I hear a few rats scurrying around and we caught....hmm? Kindred?"

His milky white eyes gleamed malevolently when his gaze trailed towards my mate.

"The King has been looking for this lovely flower and yet she is here with two Kindred males where they cannot be easily seen."

"This is ridiculous! How dare you point your blades at royal guests! My partner and his father were just escorting me through here because I was feeling unwell and wanted to go home." My mate started acting, her posture and words befitting an indignant noble lady.

"Ah...forgive me, my lady. I would believe you if your  partner's father does not look awfully like Rion Lii, a fugitive and enemy of the crown."

Our cover's blown!

I growled and prepared to launch myself at the tall male when my father beat me to it and rammed against him, knocking him into the ground.

"Get ready to run! Take her and go!"

"Patro! No!"

"ENOUGH!" The tall man in black roared and the next thing we knew.

Both of us were on the ground, the Skeldoram's black spears pinning us down.

While a few of them grabbed Andi who frantically resisting them.

I struggled, growling as a veil of red blinded my sight.

"GET. AWAY. FROM. HER!!" A loud feral growl came from my throat as I fought against the Skeldorams.

This feeling....I felt it before.

The Rage, a state that a Kindred warrior undergoes when his mate is in grave danger...
