Anirudh sat near bondita holding her hand. His eyes were filled with tears because his chirpy, full of life Bondita was lying there quiet and battling with life.
Anirudh:- Main tumhe kuch nahi hone dunga bondita. Tum bahut jald theek ho jaaogi, hmmm? Apne pati babu par bharosa rakho. (He carressed her hair.) Chalo ab dawai ka samay ho gya hai.
He takes a pill and mixes it with water and then makes bondita drink it and wipes her mouth with a towel. He again took her tiny hands in his. He called koeli and asked her to be with bondita until he comes. Koeli did as he said. He then went to Durga ma and kneeled down and took a burning camphor on his hands.
Anirudh:- Durga ma, mera aap par bharosa bondita ki wajah se hai na. Aap to bondita ki dugga maa ho na. To aaj aapne uske saath aisa kyu kiya. Wo bondita jo kisi koo apne tarkon ke aage bolne nahi deti thi, wohi bondita aise bina kuch bole leti hui hai. Wahan meri bondita zindagi aur maut se lad rahi hai aur ek main hu ki kuch nahi kar paa raha hun. Please use jaldi theek kardijiye. (Crying) Uski baaton ke bina yeh ghar ghar nahi lagta kyuki usi ne isse ek haveli se ghar banaya hai. Please durga maa, meri bondita ko theek kardo. Main waada karta hu phir se uspar koi aanch tak nahi aane dunga. (He broke down and was crying badly. Kaka came and saw him in this state. He quickly went to him.)
Kaka:- Anirudh, beta....aise ro kyu raha hai? Haan bol na? Bondita theek hai na? Beta aise nahi rote.
Seeing kaka come there, anirudh immidiately hugged him tight and started crying harder. Seeing the situation, kaka too let anirudh cry because he knew it was important for anirudh to take out that pain he was collecting inside him. After some time,
Anirudh:- Kyu ho raha hai bondita ke saath aisa? Kya bigaada hai uss masuum si bachchi ne kisi ka. Kyu use itni badi sazaa mil rahi hai. Sazaa mughe milni chahiye na, use kyu mil rahi hai? Main nahi dekh sakta use aise.
Kaka:- Shaant hoja anirudh. Tu aise himmat nahi haar sakta. Aur dekh, abhi bondita hamare paas hai aur doctor ne bhi to kaha hai na ki vo theek ho jaaegi. Tu jaa uske paas, yeh sab baatein ham baad mein kar lenge aur vaise bhi uski patti bhi to badalni hai na.
Anirudh:- Haan...haan kaka, main jaata hun. (He went.)
Kaka to durga maa:- Hey durga maa, hamari bahu ko jaldi se theek kardo. Hamse anirudh aur bahu ki yeh halat dekhi nahi jaati.
In room, Anirudh changes her patti and after some time, he sleeps there only holding her hand.
After few days, it was the last day of medication. If now bondita didn't regain consciousness then it was difficult to predict what will happen. All were very tensed. The doctor was also examining her. Anirudh was trying very hard not to cry infront of her. The doctor left saying he will come in the evening and kaka too went to temple. Anirudh was sitting holding her hands with eyes closed praying to durga maa. After some time, he heard a very fimiliar voice. He opened his eyes to see Bondita uttering "Pati babu, pati babu". Her hands were moving too. He quickly called bohari and asked him to call the doctor. He went. Anirudh's happiness knew no bounds.
Anirudh:- Bondita, bondita...ankhein khuli rakhna. Dekho, tumhaare pati babu tumhaare saath hain. Tum ghar par ho. (The doctor came and checked her. He then very happily told them that bondita was now alright. She will regain full consciousness till evening but she was a little weak and will need 2 days rest more. He went.)
Anirudh waited till evening. He didn't move for an inch even in order to see if bondita regains consciousness. It was evening already. Slowly, bondita gained consciousness. "Pati babu, pati babu."
Anirudh:- (Wiping his tears.) Bondita, tum theek ho? Kaisa lag raha hai? Kahin dard to nahi ho raha na. (Bondita smiled seeing him do so much questioning.) Bondita? Tum hass kyu rahi ho?
Bondita in a weak voice:- (Smiling) Pati babu, aap kehte hain main bahut prashn puchti hun, lekin prashn to aap kar rahe hain itne saare ikathe. Main theek hu pati babu bilkul. Aap chinta mat kijiye.
Anirudh was so comforted listening to her voice after such a long time. He called kaka. KSJ came and saw bondita. He was very happy.
KSJ:- Are bahu, tum theek ho na? (Keeping his hand on her forehand.)
Bondita:- Haan, KSJ main theek hun. Aap theek hai na?
KSJ:- Ham bilkul theek hain. Khud hi dekhlo. (Bondita laughed and seeing her laugh, they both laughed.)
Bihari and koeli also came and they were also very happy on seeing her like this. And after such a long time, the happiness came back to the Roy Chaudhary Haveli. They were all very happy.
