After my visit to the therapist, Gideon took me out to lunch and offered to pay. I agreed reluctantly. I would simply rather go rob a bank or something, but Gideon is trying to keep me good. We walked into a small diner that was only a few blocks away. It was cheaper and had good food.

"So, was it too bad?" He asked. I shrugged and stirred my coffee. I looked out the window. A younger guy ran past with a girl, they were laughing as security guards followed them. It hurt to see people so happy. I looked at Gideon, he looked at me intensely. "I'm very happy you went Rhynna. It really does mean a lot, thank you." I shrugged, he wanted me to talk, but I didn't feel like it. He raised his eyebrows. I gave him nothing. He sighed disappointed and crossed his arms, while still staring me straight in the eye. "Do you want to hang out with Kayden today?" Gideon asked.

"Yes." I replied, he smirked. I grimaced in disappointment. Why was I acting so weak? Then I smirked, "So, I was thinking I'll move out this weekend if its fine with you?" Gideon sighed and didn't answer. I rolled my eyes as the waiter came back with our food.

I taped the box shut and stacked it on top of the others.

Gideon looked at me, "Are you really doing this? Are you sure you will be okay?"

I rolled my eyes, "Gideon, I am perfectly capable of living on my own, thank you."

"Well I know, but I worry you know? I can't help it." I nodded. We moved the boxes into my car and I went back inside to grab my keys. I paused and went back to the front closet. I grabbed the fedora off the hook and went to say goodbye to Gideon. He looked sadly at me, "It was great to have you here. Please visit me more often. I mean it. Please?"

I grinned at him, "Of course dad." He rolled his eyes, I like never called him that.

"Be safe, okay? Love you kiddo!" I grinned at him.

"Love you too, dad." And this time I meant it.

I drove to a nearby gas station first. I grabbed food and water. Since my house was a 2 hour drive. However, I was looking into apartments here. Me and Kayden discussed it and I would come back in two weeks to tour apartments in Ecorse, and I would stay at his place while doing so. I drove for an hour and stopped for five minutes to take a break. I checked my phone. Three new messages from Gideon. I quickly checked them. The first one said, "travel said kiddo!" The second one, "Rhynna, I forgot to tell you something while you were here, when are you coming up next? This needs to be said in person." And the third one said, "Rhynna. Something is happening, please come back." My heart beated faster at his words. I quickly turned the car around and drove back as fast as I dared. I arrived 40 minutes later. I got out of the car and ran up to the door. I turned the knob, but it was locked. I heard a noise within the house. I rushed back to the car and grabbed my gun from the glove compartment. I snapped off the safety and walked to the door. I hid and peeked in the window. There was a guy in the house. Poor Gideon didn't even own a gun or anything. I carefully snuck around back and tried the back door. Locked. Of course. I climbed the side of the house and looked in the window to Gideon's room. He was standing against the wall by the door with his hands up. There was a man with his back to me holding a gun. Gideon saw me, but looked away not wanting to give me away. I carefully pulled the window open slowly so it didn't make a noise. I climbed in silently and stalked up to the man. In a snap I had his gun
out of his hand, on the floor, and me covering his mouth. Gideon breathed out in relief. I motioned to the door and shook my head. He nodded and grabbed the gun from the ground. I cover the man I was holding's mouth and nose. He soon lost consciousness and I released him. I motioned for Gideon to watch him. I carefully stalked down the stairs. There was another man in the kitchen. I rushed to him and hit him to the ground. He shouted and I quickly pinned him to the ground.

"Shut up!" I yelled. He yelled again. I smacked him hard enough that he lost consciousness too. I quickly searched the house but didn't find anyone else. I dragged the guy from the kitchen into the living room and called to Gideon. "Gideon bring the guy down here." There was no response. I quickly looked between the guy on the floor and the stairs. I sighed before running up the stairs. I held the gun out in front of me as I approached Gideon's room. The man had the gun to Gideon's head as I came in.

The man's deep voice spoke, "One more step and I'll shoot him." His accent was thick and hard to understand. I gripped my gun tighter, took a deep breath and shot.
