Epilogue

Claire's POV

"Claire! Come here, honey! Don't you want to meet your brother?" Mommy asked me. I ran to her, of course I did! What was his name again? I didn't remember.

"Mommy!" I screamed.

"Claire honey, use your indoor voice. We are inside." Mommy told me. "Here, look! It's your brother. Colton. Isn't he little?" I wrinkled my nose. He was tiny and really pink. He started screaming.

"Mommy, he doesn't like me." I told her. Mommy laughed.

"Kayden, honey! Where are you?" Mommy called to Daddy. I came closer to my brother.

"Can I hold him, mommy?" I asked.

"Of course honey, but wait for Daddy to come in here." she reassured me. Daddy came in the room.

"Daddy!" I yelled. He ran to me with a huge smile on his face.

"Hi, honey!" He responded in a normal voice. Why did no one else scream when they were excited? Daddy scooped me up and spun me around, I giggled as I got butterflies in my tummy from spinning.
"Did you meet your brother Colton?" he asked me. I nodded, I forgot about him for a second.

"Now, I can hold him! Mommy said so!" I screamed in excitement. He started crying again. Mommy tried to shush him.

"Claire, indoor voice." Mommy reminded me. I nodded excitedly. Ignoring what she actually told me. Daddy had me sit on his lap, while I held Colton. I didn't know why, but you know I still got to hold him. Mommy handed me him, kneeling in front of me and Daddy. I held him and he was so small! I smiled and pulled him closer to me face.

"You're going to be the best brother ever! I love you and we are gonna be best friends!" I told him. He opened his eyes and looked at me with these enormous blue eyes. "Mommy, I think they put diamonds in his eyes! They're so bright!" I exclaimed. Colton smiled a smile without teeth and giggled. "Mommy! He giggled and smiled at me!" I cried in excitement. He was the best thing ever! Then mommy took him back and I pouted. I wanted to hold him longer.

The doorbell rang.

"Kayden could you get that?" Mommy asked as Colton started screaming again. Geez he loved to scream a lot. Daddy stood up, picking me up in the process. I squealed in excitement. Daddy walked to the door while I clung to his neck. He opened it and Auntie was standing there.

"Auntie!" I screamed reaching for her.

"Claire!" she said excitedly, grabbing me and picking me up. "I missed you buddy!" I she said kissing my cheek. I giggled and hugged her. Which happened to be her neck since she was holding me. "Where's the baby?" she asked Daddy.

"With Rhynna, in the nursery. Come on, Marg." She put me down and followed Daddy to nursery. Leaving me here. I frowned, they left me here. All they care about is Colton. I sat down where I was and rubbed my eyes. That made me sad. Soon enough tears were streaming down my cheeks. I started crying loudly, hiccuping. Daddy came running out, crouching in front of me.

"Oh baby, what's wrong?" he asked me. I tried to answer, but just ended up crying louder. He rubbed my back, trying to sooth me.

After a little bit, I managed to say, "You guys don't want me anymore. You only want Colton. And that makes me sad." Daddy pulled me into a hug.

"Of course not, honey! We love you very much! But your brother will need special attention for a while. You did too, honey, all babies do." he told me softly. He kissed my head and picked me up, bringing me into the nursery with him, Mommy, and Auntie. Auntie was holding Colton, she smiled at me, when we came in. Mommy came over and took me, kissing my forehead. I cuddled into her. I was the luckiest girl alive.

"Hey Mommy, is Grandpa coming over today?" I asked her.

"Yes, honey. Grandpa Gideon is coming over around 2. Its only 12." I smiled and wrapped my arms around her neck. I had the best family ever. I looked at Colton, then back at Mommy.

"Do I get another brother or even a sister?" I asked.

Mommy looked at Daddy and smiled, "Yes, darling, yes you do."
