10 - drawings

Sorry for the delay-

Welcome to another very-late-night-almost-morning drawing session. You think to yourself.

Just the final stroke there-

"What are you doing?" Leif asked, popping out from behind you.

You screeched and punched him in the face. "oops..." You whispered, covering your mouth.

"Well, this is certainly a different reaction from Ava," Leif said, rubbing the side of his chin.

"It's 4 am, why are you up?" You hissed.

Leif shrugged. "Ava's charging her power, and I just assumed you'd be awake," he said. 

"Charging her-I'm not even going to-Alright..." You said, before hopping out of bed. "I'm going to get a snack, wanna follow?"

"Nah," Leif said, looking around your room.

"I'm back loser, here's some food," You said, throwing a chocopie at Leif's face.

Leif jumped up. "WHAT KIND OF HUMAN BOMB THING IS THIS??" He yelled.

"SHSHSHSHSHSHSHSHHSHS!!!" You waved your arms around. "You just eat it..." You said. "It's not poisoned I swear." You opened yours and took a bite.

Leif raised an eyebrow and just stared.

"It's ok, it's not gonna kill you." You said, before breaking a piece off and holding it in front of his mouth.

"What are you doing?" He asked, visibly confused.

You raised an eyebrow. "What does it look like I'm doing? Open your mouth."

Leif hesitantly opened his mouth, and you popped the chocopie into his mouth.

He didn't say anything, but it seemed like he was enjoying the treat.

"Pretty good, right?" You said, taking out a bite of yours.

You grabbed your laptop and moved your little setup that included your laptop and a relatively small drawing tablet to your desk.

Leif came up behind, looking at your screen that showed a drawing of Nezuko with half-finished coloring, along with half-assed lineart. "About that, you still haven't answered my question on what you were doing."

"Well-" your face switched to an 'oh shit' look. 

'Do I really need to explain to this dipshit what drawing is?'  You thought to yourself, leaning towards them from her chair.

"Get it now?" You asked, probably for the 4th time.

Leif slowly nodded. "Kind of...?"

You sighed. "Yeah, I'm not explaining it again and a kind of is good enough for me."

"But why are you...draw-ing?" Leif asked, separating 'draw' and 'ing' like they were two words.

You looked back up at him. "Money. It's what people-humans use to get almost everything."

He blinked. "But it's just paper."

You shrugged. "Kinda just how it goes I guess." You said, sighing. "If one day everyone on Earth decided that paper money was just paper, then it would be just that. Paper. It has value because we humans believe that it has value."

You posted your art pretty frequently on social media since you enjoyed doodling from time to time. And sometimes you would also make finished paintings and such. After slowly getting used to your drawing style, you decided to open up commissions.

And one of those commissions ended up being a Nezuko fanart piece.

You groaned. "THAT'S SUCH A BAD HAND!!!!" You yelled out, then covering your mouth. "Oops."

Asch came into the room. "SHUT UP OTHER HUMAN!!!!!"

You blinked. "Kinda hypocritical, don't you think?"

"HU-" You interrupted him by stuffing his face with Leif's untouched choco pie.

"Woah!" Rhys said, who was behind Asch. "What kind of silence spell is that?"

"I-uh-waaa-" You stuttered. "Yeah, Ava's been feeding waaayyyyy too much into this magic thing..." You mumbled. "It's not a spell, when you want someone to shut up just put food in their mouth."

"How long have you been awake for?" Pierce asked, coming into the room also

'tf is this, a party?'

"uhhhh..." She looks at the clock. "Well....at least like 25 hours."

He tilted his head. "Seems to be the total opposite from Princess Ava."

You just shrugged and turned back to your drawing.

You tried to ignore the difference between how they talk about Ava compared to you, but it stayed.

Yawn.

"You sure you don't need to...sleep?" Leif asked, still unfamiliar with the word.

You nodded. "I'm fine." You said, taking a sip of your coffee. "Ava's gonna kill me if she knows..." You mumbled to herself.

Noi was on the other side of the room near the bed with Rhys and Pierce, and he noticed a certain notebook on your bedside table.

"What's this?" He asked, picking it up from the table.

"Hm?" She said, turning her head. "Oh, that-that's private thank you!"

Noi pouted. "Aww, but I wanted to see it!"

"There are some things that I don't want people to know!" You said, putting your notebook into your bedside cabinet.

Noi tiled his head. "But we're not humans."

"Just-nnggg..." You sighed.
