8 - Suspicions

"EVER SINCE WE'RE BEEN HERE, THERE HAS BEEN NO VIOLENCE, NO BLOODSHED, NO ANYTHING!!" A voice shouted which seemed to wake you up.

"Bloodshed and wa...?" You mumbled, slowly starting to wake up.

"Leif, try to understand." Another voice said, which you assumed it to be was Rhys. "We've been-"

"I HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR TALK RHYS!" Leif shouted, causing you to wince.

You sat up, rubbing her eyes. "Geez, these guys don't know how to be goddamn quiet..."

"WE'RE HERE TO STOP THE SCARY MAGIC CRISIS ON DAEMOS, BUT NONE OF YOU WOULD KNOW HOW TO LIVE WITHOUT MAGIC!!" You heard Leif yell.

"And I stand corrected..." you mumbled.

"What does it matter now?" A new voice started talking. "You serve me now Leif. And if you know what's best for you, you'll stand down and hold your tongue before I rip it out."

'yup.' You thought to herself. 'cocky Asch'

"Why are they acting so hostile?" Another voice said, this one softer than the others.

'Oh, you poor sweet Cinna bun...' you sighed, shaking your head.

"Perhaps the lack of hostility in this world." Another voice said, this one being Pierce since no other was left.

'Lack of hostility-wait, what?' You started to get confused.

"I'M DONE TOYING AROUND WITH AVA, I'M DONE WITH WORRYING ABOUT THE FUCKING MAGIC CRISIS!!" Leif yelled again.

'oop boy knows how to swear.' You snorted at your own comment. Then covered mouth.

Thankfully Leif was still yelling. "Let's just TAKE her magic, AND CALL IT!"

'who's magic...?' You thought, trying to go over the recent events. 'wait, do they really think Ava's whole act is actually magic-'

"One human will not be enough to solve it on daemos." Rhys continued calmly, as opposed to Leif's continuous yelling.

"But what about the other human?" Noi asked.

'biiiitch what the hell. I know I'm not spectacular or anything, but forget me that fast?'

"If we don't need her, I've been waiting to slit her throat open," Leif growled. Surprisingly he actually knew how to be somewhat-scary.

"Go ahead, trust me I won't mind..." You mumbled, before stepping into the daemos's quarters.

"Back off Leif, I decide when the execution is!" Asch yelled out, creating a fireball in his hand.

"Woah woah woah-" you said, stepping in between them. "I thought you had some huge magic crisis or something, are you sure you should be using it so much?"

That seemed to surprise every daemos in the room. "How do you know that?" Rhys asked, still shocked.

You shrugged. "I don't know, maybe because I was listening to your conversations BECAUSE YOU WERE SO GODDAMN LOUD???"

Then without warning, Leif grabbed you and held her still with one hand, putting her in a semi-hug. And brought one of his sickles to Trisha's throat.

"Ok, I'll be honest that hurt more than I thought," you said, trying to stay somewhat calm. "One of you better know healing magic or some shit..." you mumbled.

The other daemos were pretty confused. "Why isn't she screaming for 3 hours straight like Ava was?" Noi asked.

'Well, it's because this human doesn't really value her life all that much.' you thought to yourself. 'this human prefers to be dead than alive.'

"Is she crying?" Noi asked Pierce, which seemed to make you come back to reality.

"N-no, I'm just...tired-I...I yawned..." You stammered out. "Now Leif get that fucking farming tool away from me."

But Leif was listening to none of that. "TELL AVA TO GIVE US MORE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THIS PLACE!!" He shouted into your ear. "WE HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN OUT OF THIS HOUSE!"

"Well, now you're making me go deaf," You said, still being ignored by all the daemos in the room.

"GET ME SOME MORE ANSWERS OR I'LL-" Leif said, before being interrupted by a blue sword.

'Great...two weapons in front of me, ready to kill me...'

"No one is taking her until we get more knowledge of this place," Pierce said, seeming...angry surprisingly since he hasn't really shown any emotion so far.

"LEIF, LET ME GO BEFORE I KICK YOU WHERE THE SUN DOESN'T FUCKING SHINE!!" You yelled out, startling everyone.

Leif dropped you, causing you to stumble a bit, but regaining your balance again. "Finally..." you felt something go down her neck. Blood.

'Great, now I need to google how to bandage your neck without choking yourself.' you thought to herself.

"Pierce is...surprisingly correct." Rhys continued, pretty much ignoring what just previously happened.

'bitch I-' You were confused. 'I literally almost got my head lopped off and they're just going on like that never happened. Excuse me bitch, what?'

'Strangulation doesn't seem that bad anymore...' She thought, sighing.

"Does them talking about Ava's "magic" have to do anything with the magic crisis?" You mumbled to yourself. "It would make sense with them claiming that Ava has powers.

You were in your room, looking at the mirror while trying to bandage your neck. Without choking yourself. Which was harder than it seemed like.

"Hhaa-" you choked. "Too tight-"

You undid the bandages again for the 3rd time and started all over again.

"But what about bloodshed and stuff?" You asked no one in particular. "That's something that's extremely questionable."

"Other human, I need to talk to you." Asch yelled.

'0thEr HuMAn 1 neED t0 tAlK t0 y0U' you mimicked him in your head.

You sighed and let your bandages flop down like a certain superhero in a certain show. "What is it..." You asked, clearly annoyed.

"It would be a thing to talk about in private." He said, on the verge of yelling.

You sighed again. "Fine, fine...just...wait up a bit..." You said, waving your hand.

"OTHER HUMANNNN!!!!" He yelled out, making everyone flinch.

"SHUT UP FUCKER DEMON PRINCE SHIT!!" You yelled back, not really in the mood.

And a quiet second later, the door burst open, revealing Asch ready to explode.

"What the fuck do you-" You said, before being interrupted.

"I'M TIRED OF YOU NOT COOPERATING WITH ME!" He yelled out before reaching out for her neck. But stopped noticing the bandages, and grabbed her shoulder to lift her up. "NOW LISTEN NOW OR IT WILL BE HELL FOR YOU!!" Asch said, creating a fireball in his other hand.

You looked shocked until "Pfft-" you started to laugh. "Hell? Fire? Hellfire? No?" you sighed. "Ok fine..."

Asch's grip tightened on your shoulder. "I'M TIRED OF YOUR STUPID HUMAN ANTICS!!" He yelled in your face. "NOW LISTEN TO ME OR-"

"OR YOU'LL WHAT?" you yelled back, causing the fireball to vanish. "BURN ME TO ASH? KILL ME? LOP OFF MY HEAD? DO IT! I DARE YOU, DO IT!! IT'S NOT MY FAULT THAT I'M NOT USEFUL LIKE AVA, OR IS EASILY SCARED LIKE HER!! O-OR-OR NORMAL LIKE AVA!!! OR-" you were in tears at this point. "I've said too much..." You covered her mouth. "Just leave...please..."

Asch was silent, but slowly retracted his hand and left the room.

And you just sat there, tears slowly pouring out, eventually falling asleep.
